Chapter 7
Gary, facing Kathleen’s sudden betrayal, had a look of shocked anger in his eyes.
“Kathleen, I’ve always been so good to you, and this is how you treat me now?”
But Kathleen ignored him and screamed.
“You insisted on cheating and pursuing me back then. None of this was ever my fault.”
“You forced me to have your child.”
“This is all on you!”
They shouted and cursed at each other.
Nearby, Dylan slammed his fist into his assistant’s chest in frustration before storming off.
He ordered his men: “Since we can’t find her here, burn it down.”
Gary panicked: “No! This is the Perez family estate! You can’t burn it!”
Dylan turned with a smile more terrifying than a demon’s. “Did you consider consequences when you messed with my wife?”
Gary’s face drained of color. Eyes wide with terror, he’d never felt such fear before.

As the flames leaped up, almost swallowing him whole.
Gary dared not linger any longer and bolted straight out.
Somehow, he had only one thought in his mind: find Elizabeth.
If he found Elizabeth, Dylan would surely let him go.

Little did he know, I–the one consuming his thoughts–lay sprawled on a leather sofa, listening to my subordinate’s report.
“Boss, we’ve cut off all supplies to that couple in Africa.”
“They’re gnawing tree bark with their child now.”
Then violin eyed the wound on my face, words caught in her throat.
I glanced at her and murmured, “Speak your mind.”
“Boss, you can’t pull stunts like this anymore. Take us with you when you go out.”
“One minute later, you and the young master would’ve been wolf food!”
I gently patted the frightened child who had fallen asleep and said coldly, “Ran into some bastards this time, won’t happen again.”
Violin nodded in satisfaction.
Then, through gritted teeth, she said, “I’ll kill that pair of bastards for you.”
I met her eyes and chuckled lightly, “Alright, I’m back safe and sound, aren’t I? Don’t be angry yet,”

“Keep the Perez group, I still have use for it.”
At that moment, another assistant rushed in and shouted, “Boss, something bad happened!”
“We haven’t even made a move, and the Perez group is gone!”
I frowned, feeling a bit regretful. I’d wanted to take over the Perez
group.
“Did you tell sir about my business?”
Both shook their heads.
I was instantly puzzled.
I knew the European deal mattered greatly to Dylan, so after being rescued, I hadn’t contacted him immediately, fearing he’d worry.
He probably already knew about this accident.
Massaging my temples helplessly, I said, “Contact Mr. Baker.”
Just then, Dylan stormed in.
Seeing the injuries on me and our child, his eyes burned crimson with
rage.
He then had Gary and Kathleen dragged in like dogs.
Stopping before me, his face was pure fury.
“Elizabeth! Why didn’t you tell me about something this serious?”
I hooked his finger, smiling. “Didn’t want you worrying. Your

Dylan whirled around, charging at Gary. He stomped on the man’s bloody groin in a fit of rage.
