Chapter 8
Gary jolted awake by the pain.
His first words upon seeing me were: “Elizabeth, you actually married someone else? Had a child with him?”
I gave a light laugh, stepping closer to admire his misery.
“Of course. Didn’t I tell you countless times?”
“I warned you’d regret this.”
Panic flashed across Gary’s face before he gritted out, “Why are you doing this to me?”
“I never stopped loving you! I just needed an heir to pass on the family line. Was that wrong?”
Suddenly his body trembled uncontrollably as he stared at me in horror. “If he’s not mine… then where’s my child with Kathleen?”
Gazing at his foolish expression, I couldn’t help but giggle.
“Gnawing on tree bark in Africa.”
Gary forgot the pain, staring at me in shock, “What did you say?”
I replied with great patience, “Didn’t your assistant already find out?”
“I gave away the only son of the Perez group in seven generations to an African couple.”

Gary nearly gritted his teeth to pieces, “Why would you do that?”
I scoffed at him, “What do you think?”
“You openly cheated, had a child with your mistress and dumped the kid on me, living it up while I slaved away as a nanny for your child?”
“Gary, am I some kind of pushover?”
“Back then, I put up with you again and again only because your mother once saved my life.”
“But you, did you ever cherish me?”
“Let me tell you, Gary, I’m going to take back everything you did to me and my child, bit by bit, from you.”
Then my eyes swept over Kathleen.
Kathleen’s eyes twitched as she pretended to be dead. I chuckled softly.
I kicked her in the stomach. “Stop faking it, I know you’re awake.”
I crouched in front of her, pinched her chin, and sneered, “Want to live?”
Kathleen suddenly opened her eyes and nodded.
I slapped her hard across the face. “Then pull out the pillow from your belly.”
When Gary saw Kathleen pull out a wad of cotton from her clothes, his eyes widened.
He almost passed out from rage. “You tricked me?”

Kathleen ignored him and kept bowing to me repeatedly.
“Elizabeth! Please let me go, I really didn’t mean it. Back then, he forced himself on me; I didn’t seduce him.”
Gary shouted, “Kathleen! It was obviously you who seduced me back then.”
“It was you who said you’d have a child for me and Elizabeth.”
As he spoke, he grew increasingly furious. He stood up and viciously kicked Kathleen in the face.
“It’s all your fault! If you
hadn’t seduced me, I wouldn’t have made
Elizabeth angry. It’s all your fault. You ruined my family.”
I sat back on the sofa, leaning into Dylan’s arms, and watched the two people in front of me fight each other with great ease.
Dylan skillfully peeled grapes for me.
But his words were harsh: “Elizabeth, if there’s a next time, I’ll fuck you to death in bed.”
Then his eyes reddened, and his voice was full of grievance: “Do you know how worried I was when I couldn’t find you?”
“If you die, I’ll have everyone buried with you.”
