Chapter 16
The banquet hall instantly filled with an air of joy. “Wow, James‘ mate is really lucky! They’ve only been together for a few months and already have good news. Congratulations!”
Aunt Isabella immediately instructed, “Quick, notify James.”
Everyone began congratulating me. “Congrats, Sylvie!”
Julia came over too, saying, “Congrats, Sylvie. You’re so lucky. But I heard that once you’re pregnant, you can’t have sex anymore. Some men can’t resist and might cheat. I wonder if James is that kind of man. Better keep an eye out!”
A cold voice suddenly came from outside, cutting through the chatter. “You have no right to interfere in matters between Sylvie and me.”
James strode in, having caught the tail–end of Julia’s comment, and he retorted without
hesitation.
He marched straight to me, grasping my hand firmly, his voice filled with excitement and

concern. “Sylvie, are you pregnant with our child? Are we really going to be parents?”
“Are you feeling okay? Should we have the Pack doctor check on you just to be sure? And hey, bring Sylvie some of that special cranberry
juice.”
He glanced around, his brow furrowing slightly. “The air in here is too stuffy. If anyone makes you unhappy, there’s no need for you to bother
with them. Tell me, and I’ll handle it.”
Julia’s face turned instantly sour as he spoke. “James, what are you implying? I’m just considering Sylvie’s well–being.”
James looked at her, his face full of disdain.
“Julia, you’re my brother’s mate. He’s much older than me, yet still childless. Maybe you should hurry up and figure out how to give him a child, instead of meddling in other people’s
lives.”
“My relationship with Sylvie is perfectly fine. We don’t need outsiders to worry about it.”
Julia was fuming, practically ready to scream.
“How dare you speak to me like that!”
Chapter 16
Aunt Isabella interjected, “Julia, Sylvie just got pregnant. The child she’s carrying is the much–anticipated new blood for our Blood Moon Pack. It’s best not to say anything
that might upset her and affect the baby’s well–being.”
“You haven’t been able to give Emil any children, while Sylvie has brought good news for my son. I’ll make sure anyone with bad intentions pays dearly for it!”
Julia looked around at the mocking gazes directed at her throughout the hall, then finally
broke down.
She screamed, “Luna! It’s not that I don’t want to give Emil kids, it’s Sylvie! She’s been seducing Emil nonstop, and now Emil’s lost interest in me. He won’t even come back to our
room!”
I stood up abruptly and marched over to her, delivering a sharp slap across her face.
“Julia, it doesn’t matter that you’re only Emil’s mate right now. No matter who you are, if you dare to slander me like this, I won’t let you off!”
“And don’t forget. I’m the Alpha heir of the

Silver Moon Pack! Even if I hadn’t paired with James, you’d still need to show me respect
when you see me!”
“If Emil is distant with you, maybe you should look within yourself, rather than blaming others! You’re acting like a mad dog, biting at random. It honestly makes me look down on
you!”
Julia was about to lash out at me, clutching her face, when Emil walked in with a face like
thunder. “Julia, shut up!”
His voice was laced with barely controlled rage.
“You’ve embarrassed us enough! As my mate, you’ve lost it during the full moon gathering! Get out and go back to your room right this
instant!”
At this point, Aunt Isabella spoke up again.
“Emil, I didn’t plan on getting involved in your personal issues, but fresh blood is crucial
for the future of a pack. You and Julia have
been mates for quite some time, yet there’s
no good news. I think the daughter of the Crimson Flame Pack Alpha or the daughter of the Blackrock Pack Alpha would both be great candidates to be with you.”
Chapter 17
“I really think you should consider choosing
another mate.”
