Chapter 18
Chapter 18
Alpha Knox sat on the couch, looking
completely drained. After a long silence, he suddenly said,
“Beatrice, let’s break the mate bond. I’ve fallen
in love with someone else.”
It felt like someone had squeezed my heart with both hands. I had to take deep breaths just to
hold myself together.
I asked quietly, “Who is she?”
He glanced at me, then said in a low voice,
“Octavia Blair.”
When he said her name, I genuinely thought I’d
misheard him.
I never imagined he’d fall for someone like her
-an ordinary Omega.
But the look of guilt and tenderness in his eyes made my heart go completely cold.
He handed me an agreement.
“The house, the car, and custody of our child
-it’s all yours. I’ll also pay a lump sum of ten million as child support.”
Chapter 18
“The only condition is that you and the kid don’t interfere in my life with Octavia.”
I was still in shock when I reached out with trembling hands and signed it.
When I handed the signed agreement back to him, he was already grinning like a fool, ready to share the good news with Octavia.
He looked a little guilty when he noticed me watching and quickly slipped into the study.
By the time he came out, I’d already packed his things. I sat calmly at the dining table, eating like nothing had happened.
He glanced at me and went into the kitchen to grab his dishes, only to find they were gone.
He asked instinctively, “Babe, where are my
dishes?”
I paused, not even looking up as I said,
“I threw them out.”
“If you’re hungry, take your suitcase and go find
Octavia.”
Chapter 18
“I’m sure she’d be thrilled to cook for you anytime.”
Alpha Knox said nothing. He walked out of the kitchen and saw his suitcase neatly placed by the door.
Frustrated, he ran a hand through his hair and sat down across from me, sliding the agreement back over.
“For the ten million, I’d like to pay eight million now and cover the rest in installments when I
come pick up the kid…”
I cut him off flatly,
“Just pay it all at once.”
“You don’t want us disturbing your life with Octavia, and I don’t want you disturbing the life I’ll build with our daughter.”
He let out a sigh.
“Beatrice, I know cheating was my fault. I hurt you, and I’m willing to make it up to you.”
“But she’s still my daughter. I don’t want her
constantly disrupting my life but Letill beve

constantly disrupting my life, but I still have a right to be part of her upbringing.”
I set down my chopsticks and looked him straight in the eye.
“She is your daughter, yes. But she’s not some emotional accessory you get to pick up whenever it’s convenient.”
“Showing up now and then but disappearing when it matters? That kind of inconsistency will only hurt her more.”
“You failed to protect her as a father, but I will never let anyone hurt her–not even you.”
“And let’s be clear–you’re the one who cheated. That agreement? Everything in it is what I deserve.”
Alpha Knox was left speechless, but he still tried
to argue,
“Whatever. I’m not going to use money to sever my bond with my daughter.”
I flipped to the last page of the agreement and pushed it toward him.
Chapter 18
“That ten million is for her upbringing. If you want to ‘maintain a bond,’ you can pay extra.”
He choked on his words, then scoffed,
“No wonder people say you don’t really know someone until you split up.”
“Beatrice, I can’t believe I never realized how
sharp–tongued and money–hungry you are.”
I shrugged casually and said,
“And I never knew you were the cheating type.”
“What’s wrong with loving money? At least money won’t betray me. You did.”
Alpha Knox’s face turned dark. Without another word, he signed the agreement.
I tucked it away, checked the time, and said kindly,
“You can stay in the guest room tonight–for free. But tomorrow, you move out.”
