Chapter 28
I’m leaving. Leaving Silverfang Pack.
My hand gripped the bag strap, veins bulging, nails digging into my palm.
Outside the door, Alpha Peter’s subordinates were laughing. The door was being slapped
hard.
“Chloe! Come out! Let’s see how it feels to be
abandoned!”
“You’ve been licking Peter’s boots for eight years, and still didn’t make it. Now, you’re not even worth a finger to Faye!”
“Just an old piece of clothing. Peter kept her for eight years, he’s so merciful.”
“Chloe, are you really going to leave like this?”
Tina’s voice was full of frustration.
Tears were burning hot. They streamed down uncontrollably. I bit my lip hard.
Three years ago, Peter saved me from the hands of the robbers. He protected me behind
him his eves bloodshot as he tore the enemy
Chapter 28
“No one can touch my Chloe.”
But now, it was him. He was the one who pushed me into the abyss.
“What a ridiculous vow,” Tina sneered. “Now, what he’s tearing apart is your heart!”
I stumbled to the window. Through the slats of the blinds, I looked out.
Peter had Faye pinned against a locust tree, kissing her.
Faye was wearing my favorite white dress. She looked exactly like I did back then.
“Did you see that? He found a replacement and wants to step on you.” Tina’s voice was filled with heartbreak. “You’ve done so much for him, you don’t deserve this ending!”
“Peter, I’m afraid Chloe will hate me…”
Faye’s voice was weak, but her fingers provocatively traced Peter’s chest.
“Could she be the bad she–wolf trying to climb to the top?”
Chapter 28
Peter’s hand rested on Faye’s waist, his eyes full
of affection.
“Baby, don’t mention her. She’s not worth it. She’s just a pet I’ve grown tired of. Now, she’s not even worthy of licking my boots.”
My knees hit the corner of the table. The pain was sharp, but it didn’t compare to the agony in my chest.
Once, these hands had bandaged my wounds. They had whispered in my ear.
“From now on, I’ll bear the pain for you.”
“She’s been with you for eight years…” Faye
frowned, feigning innocence. “Did she even take a bullet for you?”
“Take a bullet?” Peter laughed.
“Such a foolish attempt to take credit! If it were you, I’d destroy the world for you!”
He pinched Faye’s chin. “Remember. You’re my love. Her? A beggar. I’ve been generous for eight
years!”
lked out of the residence
Chapter 28
Wearing the same clothes as Faye.
Alpha Peter sneered, his face full of mockery.
“Wrinkles have already crept to the corners of your eyes. Still pretending to be young?”
“It’s funny. You’re still playing the innocent act
at a time like this.”
I froze. I couldn’t believe it.
Alpha Peter licked his lips. His tone was cold as
ice.
“Eight years with me. Name your price. Youth loss compensation? Or mental compensation?”
I stood there in a daze. Eight years.
I took bullets for him. I took knives for him.
The pain now was unprecedented.
My nails dug into my flesh. My voice trembled.
“Alpha Peter, what did you say?!”
“I wasted eight years of your youth.”
Chapter 28
“Name a number. Don’t make me look at your face again!”
Alpha Peter stood with his hands in his pockets.
His emotions were swirling beneath the surface, but he gritted his teeth and said it.
I could barely stand.
“Peter… are you really going to treat me like a commodity?”
Faye pulled at Alpha Peter’s sleeve, pretending
to mediate.
“Alpha Peter, don’t be so harsh.”
“Chloe didn’t do anything wrong.”
Alpha Peter lowered his head, rubbing his nose
against Faye’s.
“Good girl. Be obedient.”
He shielded Faye behind him. “I won’t let you
be bullied.”
Once, he protected me like this too.
Chapter 28
Peter, when will we get married?
raye coveu.
“After I get rid of her.”
“Look at how pathetic she is. It’s disgusting.”
“Baby, after I’m done with her, let everyone know who truly belongs by my side!”
My stomach churned. I couldn’t watch any
longer.
