Chapter 44
The evidence I released stirred up quite a
storm.
Initially, things weren’t meant to escalate this
way.
But Marcus’s carelessness led to an accident
that not only put the blame on my mate but also involved a betrayal–he openly cheated and got another woman pregnant. Alpha Marcus truly is among the lowest of the low.
His private communications were long since
overrun by furious pack members, and some even leaked all his information, planning to confront him directly.
Unfortunately, he wasn’t home. In an act of rage, Alpha Marcus beat Isabella in public, causing her to miscarry and leaving her with a ruptured uterus. Not only could she never carry another child, but she’d also have to live with
medical complications for the rest of her life.
Alpha Marcus was immediately taken into custody, and it’s rumored that Isabella was adamant about not settling, insisting on suing him.

Thankfully, Alpha Marcus’s family has considerable influence, and they poured a lot of money into smoothing things over.
But on the very day he was released from detention, he shockingly stormed into Isabella’s hospital room and stabbed her multiple times.
In less than a day, Alpha Marcus found himself taken away once again–this time, he would
never get out.
As I learned this news, I was in Alpha Adrian’s
territory.
My former mentor, having heard about my situation, sent me an invitation to join him at his new research facility far away.
But Alpha Adrian urged me to stay.
He said, “My Luna, if you want to work, I support you. But please stay with me; I will build the best research facility for you.”
After reading his message, I closed the communication crystal and settled comfortably into Alpha Adrian’s embrace.
Outside the window was a beautiful forest and

a clear lake–this truly felt like home.
“Don’t you regret it?” I asked softly, “I’m a woman with a lot of pain behind me.”
Alpha Adrian gently stroked my hair, “My Luna, everyone has a past. What matters is our
future.”
He paused, looking at me with deep affection,
“And it’s your past that has shaped the
incredible person you are now–strong, independent, kind. That’s the you I love.”
“That’s what a real Alpha is!” Selene chimed in,
satisfied. “He’ll protect us and care for us.”
Tears of joy welled in my eyes. Is this what
it feels like to have a destined mate? It’s not
about possession or control, but truly about understanding and support.
Months later, on the night of the full moon, Alpha Adrian and I held a bonding ceremony witnessed by the Moon Goddess.
When his teeth sank into my neck, leaving his mark, I felt an unprecedented wholeness.
This was a genuine union, the merging of souls,

not a one–sided possession.
*“We finally found our place.“* Selene sighed contentedly.
Life after marriage was calm and happy. Alpha Adrian delivered on his promise, creating a state–of–the–art research facility for me.
I rediscovered my worth–not as a pathetic person clinging to others but as an independent researcher.
Shadow’s grave was in our backyard, and
whenever I missed him, I would go there for a
while.
Alpha Adrian never stopped me; sometimes, he
even accompanied me.
He said, “Shadow was your family, and he’s my family too.”
*“He understands us,“* Selene said warmly.
A year later, we welcomed our own child–a healthy, lively little Alpha.
As I stood with my son in front of Shadow’s
grave, I whispered, “Shadow, look at us,
Chapter 44
We’re doing well. Thank you for saving me
all those years ago; it allowed me to find true happiness.”
A gentle breeze brushed against me, as if Shadow were responding.
I knew he was well in the arms of the Moon
Goddess and that he wished for my happiness.
*“He’d be cheering for us,“* Selene said softly.
From this moment on, it was a new beginning.
Standing on the balcony of our territory, watching the sunset in the distance, I couldn’t help but think of that version of myself trembling in the pouring rain all those years
ago.
Without enduring that pain, I wouldn’t have grasped what true love really is.
True love isn’t about possession or control; it’s about understanding, support, and protection.
Alpha Adrian approached from behind and wrapped his arms around me.
“What are you thinking about, my Luna?”
Chapter 44
“Just reminiscing about the past,” I replied, leaning into him. “If I hadn’t experienced all that, I wouldn’t cherish this happiness now.”
“All that pain was worth it because it led me to
you.”
“Exactly!” Selene agreed. “Those experiences helped us grow and made us stronger.”
Alpha Adrian placed a gentle kiss on my temple. “My Luna, no matter what has happened in the past, I’ll be by your side in the future.”
“Always,” I whispered in response.
Under the witness of the Moon Goddess, our
love would be everlasting.
As for the Alpha Marcus who once hurt me, he
was now serving out his days in prison–such is the price of betrayal.
Some people are destined to face the
consequences of their choices, while others are meant to find their own happiness.
I chose the latter.
*“We made the right choice,” Selene said,

content.
From now on, it’s a new beginning.
The End.
