Raine opened her mouth to answer, but Bruno simply gave the hotel manager a cold glance and issued a detached order.
“Cancel the wedding. I’ll cover all the costs.” Before he finished, he pointed at his assistant, who had rushed over. “You handle the rest.”
As Bruno turned to leave, Raine panicked. She didn’t care about anything else and quickly grabbed his arm, her pleading eyes almost on the verge of tears.
“At least do this for the sake of our child… Can you really bear to let our baby be born as an illegitimate child?”
Bruno narrowed his eyes at her words, his gaze icy and sharp, penetrating through her.

Without any trace of sentiment, he used his other hand to pry her fingers off his arm. His tone was final: “I already clear to you from the beginning. I was never going to give you any official status. It’s too late for that now!”
With that, he walked away without looking back.
Raine was left standing there, tears rolling down her cheeks uncontrollably.

Bruno’s assistant glanced at the devastated Raine before going up to the stage and announcing that the wedding was canceled. He told everyone to go ahead and enjoy the food, and that the wedding gifts would be returned when they were ready to leave.
The guests all looked at the abandoned bride with different expressions.
Raine stood with her head down for a while before finally taking off her wedding dress and chasing after Bruno.
Back home, Bruno frantically began his search. He tore through the living room, bedroom, kitchen, and bathroom, not leaving a single corner untouched. He even rummaged through the closet and under the bed.
But no matter how hard he looked, he couldn’t find me anywhere.
When I left, I only took what was truly important to me. Everything else remained exactly where it was. For example, my carefully arranged art studio was just as I left it. My easel still held an unfinished painting. Paint was scattered across the tabie, as if time itself had frozen.
After Bruno spent a long time searching for me, he finally collapsed onto the studio floor, exhausted.
Around him were several open and empty bottles of alcohol, some rolling under my work.
At this moment, Bruno’s face was full of sorrow, his heart full of confusion and disbelief.
