One of the caregivers happened to be from my country, and she knew about Elshine Corporation.
“I heard that the chairman of Elshine Corporation, Bruno Russell, actually called off his wedding in anger! They say it’s all because of a scheming woman who drove away his fiancee. That woman had the nerve to show up in a wedding dress and try to marry him herself! I have a friend of a friend who works at Elshine Corporation. She told me that Mr. Russell works around the clock now That woman tries so hard to satisfy him, but he completely ignores her!”
The nurse sighed
“That fiancee must be so lucky to have a man who loves her that much”
Another caregiver just chuckled “If she were really that lucky, she wouldn’t have run away!”
Hearing this, I turned my head to look out the window

In the end, they didn’t get married after all.
Wasn’t their bond supposed to be true love? Wasn’t I the one accused of ruining their relationship?
Yet now that I had left, their lives were still a mess.
My calm gaze floated over to the scenery outside the window.
It was probably because of the shares. Bruno had borrowed a lot of money to buy my shares. If he didn’t work hard, how was he supposed to pay it back?
I chuckled quietly.
Served him right!
He used to lie to me about working late, but in reality, he was fooling around with Raine at another apartment. Now, he truly ended up busy, just like he had always claimed. I helped him make his dream come true.
Another month went by, and I was able to walk around again.
The weather was beautiful that day. I was out on the lawn, painting whatever came to mind. Just as I was finally getting some peace, I was interrupted by a disturbance.
“Master Liam, slow down! Take it easy!”
“Don’t worry about me, I can walk on my own!”
“The doctor said you shouldn’t move too much yet! Come back and sit!”
“Nonsense! Which useless doctor said that? See, I’m walking just fine!”

I looked up and saw a young man limping along in the distance, with a caregiver following behind pushing a wheelchair. The young man looked dour, defiance written all over his face.
I smiled a little and lowered my head to mix my paints.
Before I could put my brush on the canvas, I heard a rattle.
My art supplies and easel got knocked over by the young man, who could barely walk straight. As he was about to fall face- first to the ground, I instinctively reached out to catch him by the waist.
When I saw his face up close, I paused for a moment. He was actually quite young. Now that I was closer, he looked quite charming
The sudden fall left him stunned, however. He lay on my arm to the point that it was hurting a little. As I moved my tired arm, the young man suddenly let out a yelp and took several steps back before falling to the ground with a thud.
“II. I didn’t mean to do that!” he stuttered as his ears turned slightly red.
I figured he was just embarrassed because he was so young
“It’s fine,” I replied simply
I bent down to pick up my scattered art supplies. The young man rushed over to help, gathering all my paint and brushes in a heap on my palette in a blunder before handing them back to me
His eyes were almost glittering as he said, “My name’s Liam Carter What’s yours?”
I looked up at him “Aelia Lawson ”
And so, in the days that followed, I became friends with a fellow patient
Liam would come over at every opportunity, prattling away about his amusing stories.
