Meanwhile, Bruno stayed oddly calm, as if it wasn’t even his woman and child inside. He just looked at me with a mixed expression.
Then, I heard something that completely blew my mind.
“Aelia, I never imagined you could be so jealous. If you had told me that you couldn’t stand this baby, I would have made Raine get an abortion earlier when it was still safe.
“Now that your heart’s healed, we can share a bed again. Having a baby is just a matter of time. While I can forgive you for what happened, this has hurt Raine deeply. To keep her from getting hurt again, you’ll have to let me keep her around. You
owe her that ”
With that, he gazed at the operating room door A doctor came out, took the paperwork the nurse handed him, and asked, ” Who’s the patient’s family?”
Only then did Bruno stand up and go over “I am.”
“What’s your relationship to the patient?” the doctor asked
Bruno glanced at me for a second, then said, “Boyfriend”
After he signed the paperwork, the doctor went back in to continue the surgery.

The nurse gave me a dirty look and sneered, “So you knew he was already with someone and still went after him? And you even caused his girlfriend to lose her baby.”
Next to her, Bruno frowned. “What are you talking about? She’s my fiancee.”
The nurse shuddered and faked a cough, then looked back and forth between us. I figured her mind couldn’t keep up.
I didn’t want anyone to keep misunderstanding this, so I rolled my eyes and said, “Ex–fiancee. No longer current. And I didn’t
push that woman.”
Bruno’s brows knit even tighter. “Aelia Lawson, since when did you learn to lie?”
Aelia Lawson?
The heiress to the Elshine Corporation? The one who ran out on her wedding?
The nurse’s love for gossip flared up again. That had been all over the internet at one point, and though the matter had died down, she still remembered vividly. She couldn’t believe she would stumble right into the heart of the drama!
Before she could listen anymore, though, someone called her away. The hospital was too busy, and nobody wanted her idling
around.
I looked calmly at Bruno. “I told you it wasn’t me, so it wasn’t me.‘
Bruno’s tone grew frustrated. “You’re denying it because you don’t want me to keep Raine around, right?”
His stubbornness was exhausting me.
To maintain the visitors‘ safety for the world racing championship, there were cameras
all over the venue.
It would take just
a moment to check to find out what happened.
So, I replied without any fear, “Then call the police.”
Bruno got agitated; he was about to argue with me when the operating room doors swung open.
Just when I thought they might have saved the baby, the doctor said, “It’s critical. The patient isn’t doing well. The baby
might not make it. You should prepare yourselves.”
Bruno immediately panicked; he grabbed the doctor by the collar and demanded, “Save the baby! You have to save the baby! This is my first child! You can’t let anything happen to my child!”
