He didn’t even stop a beat.
I stared at Liam in shock. I knew he was talkative, but I never expected he would be so ferocious with his insults. He left Bruno red in the face, unable to utter a single word. All Bruno could do was stare back in silence.
The commotion didn’t last long. The doctor finally came out and announced that the baby didn’t survive, but the mother
would be all right. The argument finally ended then and there.
I breathed a sigh of relief, then took Liam’s hand and started to leave.
However, that move agitated Bruno.
“That hard–to–get act won’t work anymore when you’ve used it too many times,” he said coldly. “I’m warning you. You better
come home right now!”
I turned around with a calm expression, and finally said what I had been holding in my heart for a long time.
“What makes you think I still love you? Is it because of everything I used to do for you? I’d do the same for anyone I called my boyfriend. You’re not that special.”
Bruno froze, a flash of panic in his eyes. He stared at me in disbelief. “You’re lying, right? You loved me so much… How could you just stop loving me?”
When he first met me, I had been so naïve. My loyalty to him knew no bounds.
