Chapter 10
Lesly lay in bed and soon fell asleep.
The next day, when she opened her eyes again, she realized it was already ten o’clock. She quickly got up and washed up.
In the living room, everyone had already gotten up and was drinking coffee and chatting.
Seeing that she had woken up, everyone instructed the kitchen to bring breakfast and warmly greeted her.
Lesly, did you rest well last night? Is there anything you want to eat?
Take your time going downstairs, we know you’ve been working hard all the way, it’s good to get some extra sleep, no rush.
Lesly was somewhat surprised and touched by the care shown by the newly acquainted elders.
Perhaps afraid that she would feel uncomfortable, Madam Leach found something to send her son and daughter–in–law away. While chatting with her, I served her food.
After eating, Madam Leach took her to the hospital and examined her thoroughly from head to toe
The doctor prescribed a new medicine and advised her to rest well for a month, and she would gradually recover.
Upon hearing the news, both of them breathed a sigh of relief.
After leaving the hospital, Madam Leach took her directly to the sanatorium.
Lesly knew she had to go see Vincent, feeling a
a little nervous.
When
I think of him lying unconscious on the hospital bed, it doesn’t seem like a big deal anymore,
After arriving at the destination, Lesly saw the butler secretary, Everett, again.
He waited at the door, holding several documents in his hand, and bowed.
As she passed by, Madam Leach deliberately stopped and asked a question
“How is Vincent?”
“Just like the previous days, the doctor said the condition was stable.”
Madam Leach nodded and led Lesly upstairs,
The top floor’s luxury box was heavily guarded and very quiet.
The medical staff helped to push open the door, and Madan Leach smiled and greeted the people inside. “Vincent, look, who did I bring?”
Lesly kept her head down, still pondering the doctor’s instructions, without really registering them. After hearing her name, she instinctively lifted her head.
Just happened to meet a pair of calin and waveless eyes.
Lesly couldn’t say a word as she looked at the man sitting on the couch wearing a hospital gown.
Although she tried to keep calm on her face, her mind was already in a mess
Wasn’t Vincent in a vegetative state? How could he sit up? Could he still blink his eyes? Could he still speak?
Did the wake up? When did it happen? Is the church really that powerful?
What should I do now, say hello? Or introduce myself?
Madam Leach did not know what all these strange thoughts in her inud, led her to stand in front of Vincent who had already stood up “Lesly, this is Vincent.”
“Vincent, this is Lesly.”
Lesly forced a smile and extended her right hand fint.
“Hello”
Vincent stared at her, his eyes shimmering slightly, took her hand, and spoke in a gentle voice.
“Long time no see,
Upon hearing those four words, Lesly was momentarily stunned.
But she quickly remembered what Madan Leach had said, that Vincent was four years older than her and had even held her when they were children.
It was more than twenty years ago, do you still remember it so clearly? Shouldn’t you have forgotten it completely?
Lesly muttered to herself.
Madam Lesch pulled them down and her tone couldn’t hide the smile.
Vincent, Lesly had an accident and got injured at Iavenbourne. The doctor said they need to rest for a while. Your rehabilitation program is also about to end: So, how about setting the wedding date in June?
Vincent placed a cushion behind his grandmother and smiled faintly at the corner of his mouth
“It Lesly is okay with it, I can do anything, just follow Grandma’s arrangements.”
