Chapter 9
The second day after the hangover, my mind was always groggy.
Vincent struggled to get up and washed his face. He walked over to the living room, smelling the aroma coming from there, and found Sophie had prepared a large table of food.
He looked at the calendar and found it was just an ordinary day, which made hian a little curious.
“Why did you suddenly start cooking, so many delicious dishes?”
“Let’s celebrate.”
Sophie answered him softly while arranging the tableware.
Celebration?
Did he celebrate his recovery?
Vincent could only think of one thing worth celebrating.
Looking at the table full of fragrant and spicy flavors, he recalled the doctor’s advice for a light diet and felt something was not quite right.
But he didn’t think too much, he pulled out a chair and just sat down when his phone suddenly rang
was Mia
After hesitating for a few seconds, he still put down the chopsticks he had just picked up and answered the phone.
A few minutes later, the phone hung up, and he slowly stood up, instinctively glancing at Sophie.
She had already taken her seat and was peeling a shrimp, seemingly unconcerned whether he would eat this meal or not.
Vincent couldn’t help but feel guilty as he realized that she was celebrating for herself. He quickly found an excuse.
“Soph, I had something to attend to for a while, you can have your meal alone first. I’ll take you out to celebrate later when I come back.”
“No need, you can go and be busy.”
Sophie shook her head and looked at him with eyes as calm as a stagnant pool.
For some reason, as soon as he met her gaze, his heart started to beat faster inexplicably, as if reminding him that something was about to happen. What exactly it was, he couldn’t figure out
Two people stared at each other across a table for a long time, and in the end, Vincent turned around and walked out of the door.
As the door closed, Sophie looked at the empty seat in front of her and gave a meaningless smile.
the wanted to celebrate was congratulating herself on regaining freedom and learning to love herself.
ed for another person to be involved.
After finishing the meal, Sophie tidied up the kitchen waste and took the last bit downstairs to throw away.
Then she tick out the sutrase from the cabinet and left the apartment
and went to the tattoo shop she used to go to
The shig wat teendered her and asked her what she wanted to tattoo this time
She looked at this familiar small shop, her voice was soft, yet carried a hint of inexplicabile determination

Looking at expens, the shop owner seemed to understand something. A regretful expression appeared on his face, and he offered a few words of

Sophie

unbearable pairs in the world
such a little physical pain
She knew that this piece carried her past imprints, and when erased, it would decay, hurt, and leave scars.
But that was the necessary path for the wound to heal.
She didn’t explain anything further, sat in the same spot she had sat before, and d lifted up her clothes on the side of her waist.
The intense and burning pain seeped into Sophie’s mind, and she couldn’t help but shed tears of physical distress.
Tears mixed with sweat slid across her smiling face
It felt like a century had passed, yet it also felt like only a few seconds had gone by, and the shopkeeper had already finished handling it and handed me a
Tissue
Sophie took the water stains off her face, bent down to say thank you, and walked out of the small shop with her suitcase.
She stopped a car, took out her phone and sent a breakup message to Vincent, then deleted all the contact information related to him
After doing all this, the car stopped right at the finish line.
The scorching afternoon sun fell on Sophie.
She took out the high–speed train ticket from her pocket and turned around to take one last look at the city.
Then he walked into the station without hesitation…
Never looked back.
