Chapter 8
Lesly couldn’t hold on any longer and called an ambulance before passing out.
She lay on the ground for half an hour before Justin found her and took her to the hospital.
After being unconscious for a day and a night, she finally wake up, but her chest was in severe pain because she had broken three ribs.
She was so weak that she had no strength at all, just breathing was excruciating for her.
Rashad and Taniya stood by the bedside, looking extremely worried.
Cedric kept asking the doctor if there was any way to alleviate her pain..
Justin tightly held her hand, wiping the cold sweat that kept appearing on her forehead.
After experiencing this accident, it seemed like everyone’s attention had shifted back to Lesly.
Only she knew that the reason they were gathered here was not just to take care of her.
forgive her.
Lesly, the doctor said the pain is only temporary, just bear with it, it will slowly get better in a while, Jessie didn’t mean it, so f
“It’s all my fault. I didn’t teach her properly and she stepped on the wrong thing. Lesly, if you want to blame someone, blame me.”
“We are all family, just an accident, Lesly, don’t worry about it, take good care of yourself.”
One morning, Lesly heard this countless times.
Their eyes clearly showed worry, but the words they spoke were all excuses for Jessie
I don’t know if it was physical pain or aching in her chest, but it made her unable to control her tears.
The people in the room were all blurred into a haze of mist, their faces Indiscernible.
Maybe it was the pain that caused hallucinations, but she saw many images in her mind.
In the past, whenever she cur a small wound on her hand, her parents would call a doctor to dress it
Knowing that she was afraid of taking medicine, her older brother would accompany her to take a dose of any medicine just to comfort her. Justin, who twisted her foot, stayed by her side for twenty–four hours, making sure she didn’t take another step.
It’s all gone now.
Seeing her cry, Justin’s heart suddenly tightened, raised his hand to wipe away her tears, when a nurse suddenly walked in.
Just now, there was a little girl outside your ward who was so upset that she fainted. Can someone come and take care of her? When they heard Jessie faint, everyone forgot about Lesly and rushed towards her ward
In the originally noisy ward, in an instant, only one person was left.
Lesly’s tears, however, surged more and more.
Crying, she unknowingly fell asleep.
When I woke up again, the room was still silent, and the pain in my body had not eased.
The phone next to the pillow would light up from time to time, and when Lesly unlocked it, she saw a message from Jessie.
“You were the one who got hurt more, but everyone is concerned about me, Lesly, you are just a joke,”
Justin held a bowl of soup, gently blowing on it to cool it down before feeding it to her; Cedric racked his brain to come up with all sorts of jokes to make her laugh, Rashad and Taniya tucked her in with the blanket.
In the one minute video, everyone was surrounding Jessie, constantly comforting her.
“Jessie, we all knew it wasn’t intentional, your sister wouldn’t
n’t blame you either, don’t feel guilty.”
“You were sad, we felt bad too. Please don’t cry amate,
otherwise yo
Ise your eyes will get swollen and it won’t look good.”
“Lesly recovered after resting in bed for a few days, and there were no major issues. Please relax, okay?”
Word by word, each sentence pierced deep into Lesly’s heart like a needle.
Chapter 8
She tightly closed her eyes, barely holding back the tears, her nails digging deep into the palm of her hand.
At this moment, there was only one thought left in her mind.
On the day she got married, not a single one of them came!
A week later, Lesly was discharged from the hospital.
The doctor advised her to stay for a while longer, but she shook her head and said she couldn’t wait anymore.
Today, she was supposed to leave to marry Erifield.
When I got back, the villa was empty, with only my phone constantly vibrating with provocative messages from Jessie.
She ignored
In the morning, Jessie sent a photo, Rashad and Tanlya took her to the amusement park, the family laughed happily on the carousel, while Lesly sat at the table, writing a letter to sever the parent–child relationship.
Then, it was placed in Rashad and Taniya’s room.
From now on, she was no longer the daughter of the Holden family.
She also had no parents and older brother anymore.
At noon, Jessie sent a video in which Cedric was giving her a horseback ride and promising to cherish and protect her for a lifetime. Upon hearing this, Lesly called a few gardeners and had all the tulips in the backyard dug up.
Each plant in here was personally planted by Cedric after he found out she liked tulips, and he carefully nurtured them for over a decade
He said, wherever she marries in the future, this talip will be transplanted there, because it represents her brother’s love for her,
But now, her brother, Lesly, didn’t want it.
In the evening, Jessie sent a recording to Justin, where he was setting off fireworks by the river for her, saying that she would always be the most Important person to him. Meanwhile, Lesly arrived at the Norman’s mansion with a box.
What was inside it was the heirloom that Justin had entrusted to her when she was seventeen.
She laughed and said at that time, “By giving her the family heirloom so early, he wasn’t afraid of any future changes.”
The boy, however, just held her in his arms with fiery eyes, “Lesly, the only person I want to marry in my life is you. If not, I will never marry.” Now, she was getting married, but the groom was no longer him.
After doing all this, suddenly there came the sound of a car engine from outside the door.
Lesly opened the door and saw a well–dressed middle–aged man standing at the entrance,
Hello, Mrs. Leach, I was the butler of the Leach family, coming to pick you up to Erifield, Lesly nodded politely, picked up the luggage on the side, and said softly, “Let’s go.”
The butler took her luggage and glanced at the empty house. “Do you need to say goodbye to your family?”
Ravenbourne and Erifleld were thousands of miles apart, not to mention the fact that she married into a wealthy family. Once she left, who knows when they would be able to see each other again.
Lesly shook her head and got into the car directly, saying, “Let’s drive.”
No need
It won’t be needed anymore.
Because starting from today, she had no family left.
In the dark night, the car drove slowly towards the airport…
