Adam spiraled deeper into madness, offering up his own flesh and blood in desperate prayers, hoping for just one more glimpse of her.
When Howard heard about this, he was so overcome with anger that he collapsed immediately. Without its leader, the Hacith Group saw its stock price drop to an unprecedented low.
Mary looked at her son and broke down in tears. “If only we had realized! We burdened her with such immense guilt by herself. It’s all karma, all karma!”
Adam knelt on the ground, his once–robust body now gaunt and frail, surrounded by a heavy air of despair. “Mom! It was my arrogance and pride that truly led to her death. I destroyed her.

Mary, overcome with sorrow, remained silent. The memory of the girl who used to cuddle lovingly against her knees flashed in her mind, but any words of solace got stuck in her throat. It wasn’t just one person’s fault. They were all responsible!
The day Adam died was bright and sunny. He got everything ready in the morning, decorating the expansive villa with balloons and birthday

His hands, weakened by frequent self–inflicted injuries to draw blood, struggled to lift heavy items. Despite this, he awkwardly baked a birthday cake and waited for the evening to come.

and interests, which filled him with increasing dread. A fear that he might eventually forget her face.
From sunrise to sunset, the hot meals slowly lost their warmth. Adam forced a weak smile, trying to hide his discomfort.
As morning broke, the villa resonated once more with the carefree voice of a teenager, blending with a deep, raspy male voice. “Happy birthday, Sophia. Wishing you all the best for the future, may it be peaceful and free of worries…”
When Adam’s spirit finally rose, he encountered the person he had yearned for.
With tears filling his eyes, he moved forward to embrace me, only to find it impossible. “Sophia, I was wrong. I’m sorry for misunderstanding you. I’ve made sure those people faced consequences! Let’s start over, please. I promise to love you properly.”
I stood afar, feeling neither joy nor anger, my expression completely indifferent. His breath faltered, and each small movement caused him intense pain.
Yet, he persisted, sprinting with all his strength in a frantic bid to reach me. “Please… don’t go. Even if you despise me, just don’t ignore me!”
I offered a slight smile. “Adam, you’re not worth it. You don’t merit my love, nor do you warrant my hatred. Hating you would be a waste of
energy.”
The right person awaited in your future, and Adam was never meant to be that person.
Upon this realization, I felt a weight lift from my shoulders, and my mind became clearer. The chains that had held me for so long finally shattered.
