Chapter11
Kael’s POV
“What?!” Kael shot to his feet, his wolf radiating a furious scent. “Explain!”
“Luna Clara’s car was found on the outskirts of North Town. It was wrecked, Alpha. Completely torn apart.” The Beta’s voice
trembled.
Rene scene is covered in the scent of rogues, and… and a lot of blood.”
“Where is she?! Is she okay?!”
“We… we only found scraps of her clothing… they’re soaked in blood…”
The communicator slipped from Kael’s hand and clattered to the floor.
Impossible.
Clara couldn’t be dead.
He hadn’t had the chance to apologize.
He hadn’t had the chance to tell her the truth.
He hadn’t had the chance to beg for her forgiveness.
“Get the car!” he roared into the empty air, then remembered he’d dismissed the staff.
He burst out of the villa, shifting into his half–wolf form and sprinting toward the north side of the city at top speed.
The accident scene was cordoned off. Several pack enforcers were investigating.
Kael saw the mangled wreck of the black sedan.
The frame was twisted, the windows shattered, and the metal was covered in claw and bite marks.
It was clearly the work of a pack of vicious rogues.
“Alpha Kael!” The lead enforcer hurried over. “We’re deploying all available resources, but…”
“But what? Spit it out!”
“But there’s too much blood, and the clothing fragments we found…” The enforcer hesitated. “I’m afraid the Luna…”
“Give them to me!”
The enforcer handed him a clear evidence bag.
Inside were several shredded pieces of fabric from the beige coat Clara had been wearing that morning.
They were soaked in blood and bore the marks of being torn by wolf claws.
Kael took the bag. The familiar scent of jasmine, even mixed with the stench of blood, was unmistakable.
This was definitely Clara’s clothing.
“We’ve searched a three–kilometer radius,” the enforcer reported. “No signs of life. The rogues have fled, but based on the tracks, there were at least eight or ten of them…”
Kael stopped listening.
He clutched the fabric scraps and numbly sat down on the side of the road.
His moonlight girl was dead.

His Clara was dead.
Torn apart by a pack of rogues.
Just like the ones she had saved him from fifteen years ago.
Fate was a cruel, repeating cycle.
“Clara… my Clara…” He pressed the scraps to his chest, tears streaming silently down his face. “I’m sorry… I’m so sorry…”
His wolf howled in agony within him, the soul–tearing cry of a mate who has lost his other half.
“Kael?”
A familiar voice sounded behind him.
He looked up to see Selene rushing over, her face a mask of concern.
“I heard what happened to Clara…” She approached, reaching out to place a comforting hand on his shoulder. “I came to be
with you…”
“Get away from me!”
Kael shot to his feet, his eyes blazing gold, fangs bared, a lethal Alpha aura rolling off him in waves.
The force of his aura threw Selene back several steps, her face turning pale.
“Kael? What… what’s wrong?”
“What’s wrong?” Kael stalked toward her, his wolf radiating murderous intent. “You dare ask me what’s wrong?”
“I don’t understand…”
“You don’t understand?” Kael’s hand shot out, wrapping around her throat in a vice–like grip. “Fifteen years ago, on the night
of the full moon, it wasn’t you who saved me, was it?”
Panic flared in Selene’s eyes.
“What… what are you talking about… of course it was me…”
“Liar!” Kael’s grip tightened, and Selene began to struggle for air. “You never saved me! You just heard the story and impersonated my real savior!”
“No… it’s not true… Kael… I really…”
“The one who saved me was Clara!” his voice thundered. “My mate! The girl I destroyed with my own hands!”
Selene’s face turned purple from lack of oxygen, but Kael didn’t loosen his grip.
“You lied to me for three years, made me hurt the person I should have cherished, and made me miss every chance to make
things right!”
“Kael… let… let go…”
“And now she’s dead!” He roared, tears of rage streaming down his face. “Killed by rogues! I’ll never get to apologize, never get
to tell her the truth!”
The nearby enforcers were frozen by his terrifying aura, but none dared to intervene with an enraged Alpha.
“It’s all because of you!” Kael bellowed. “Because of your lies!”
Just as Selene was about to lose consciousness, he abruptly let go.
She collapsed to the ground, coughing violently, gasping for air.

“Get out,” Kael loomed over her. “Get out of my sight and never show your face to me again.”
“Kael… I… I can explain…”
“Explain?” he sneered. “What new lies are you going to spin now?”
Selene
saw the murder in his eyes and finally realized her charade was over.
She scrambled to her feet, her eyes wide with terror as if staring at a madman, then turned and fled.
