Chapter14
“I, Alpha Ethan of the Moonstone Pack, formally petition the Elders‘ Council to dissolve my mate bond with Selene.”
Ethan’s voice was cold and decisive, ringing clearly through the hall.
He looked down at the kneeling Selene without a shred of pity.
“For three years, I believed my mate was a kind and innocent she–wolf,” his voice trembled. “Now I know I’ve been living with a venomous liar.”
“Ethan!” Selene desperately clutched at his pant leg. “You can’t leave me! We’re mates! Chosen by the Moon Goddess!”
“The Moon Goddess doesn’t choose murderers as anyone’s mate,” Ethan shook her hand off in disgust. “Selene, you killed Clara. You’ve ruined everyone’s lives, including mine.”
“I didn’t kill her! It was those rogues-
“If it weren’t for your actions, Clara would never have been driven to such despair!” Ethan’s wolf radiated a scent of pure rage. “You drove her to her death!”
“Take her out,” Thome commanded coldly. “Do not let this vile woman defile Clara’s memorial.”
Several Red Fang guards moved to drag Selene away.
But just then, Kael moved.
His eyes flashed a deep gold, his wolf radiating a furious, murderous intent.
“It’s all your fault!” he roared, pointing at Ethan. “If you hadn’t cast Clara aside for Selene, none of this would have happened!”
“What?” Ethan froze.
“Three years ago, Clara was supposed to be mated to you!” Kael’s voice thundered. “But you chose Selene, this impostor, and abandoned the one you were meant to protect!”
“If you hadn’t betrayed her, she wouldn’t have been mated to me!
“If she hadn’t been mated to me, she wouldn’t have suffered this pain!”
“If she hadn’t suffered, she wouldn’t be dead!”
Kael’s wolf lost all control.
Three years of guilt, anger, and despair erupted.
He partially shifted, claws lengthening and fangs bared, and launched himself at Ethan.
“It’s all because of you!”
CRACK!
Kael’s fist smashed into Ethan’s face, the force of the blow sending him to the ground.
“Kael, stop!” someone shouted from the crowd.
But no one dared to stop an Alpha in the throes of a full–blown rage.
Kael straddled Ethan, raining down punch after punch.
“She was so pure, so kind, so worthy of love!” Each blow was laced with heart–wrenching pain. “But you chose a liar! A murderer!”

Chapter14
“She saved my life! She
was
my moonlight girl!” he roared, his voice breaking. “And because you threw her away, I was the
one who broke her!”
“Enough!” Several elders finally combined their strength to pull Kael off. “Kael, you’ve lost control!”
Kael, restrained, heaved for breath, his eyes still burning with fury..
Ethan lay on the ground, barely conscious.
In the hours that followed, Kael released all the evidence against Selene to the public.
The proof of her hiring trolls to attack Clara.
The recordings of her threatening witnesses.
The detailed plans of her schemes to frame Clara.
Even the full account of how she and Kael had orchestrated the “rogue attack” three years prior.
The entire werewolf society was in shock.
The forums exploded with discussion:
“Selene is a demon!”
“Poor Clara, killed by a woman like that…”
“How could she be so evil?”
“The Red Fang pack did the right thing. That monster doesn’t deserve to be in any pack!”
Selene became a complete outcast, reviled by all werewolves.
No pack would take her.
No Alpha would protect her.
She was exiled to the very fringes of werewolf society, cast out to live among the lowest of rogues.
And Kael, though he had successfully brought justice for Clara, was now scorned by his own people for his role as her
accomplice.
More importantly, none of it could bring Clara back.
He descended into a self–destructive spiral, drinking heavily and refusing to handle any pack business.
