Chapter Thirteen
Elara’s POV:
I couldn’t sleep all night as Caspian’s warning about Julian continued to echo in my head.
I tried to push his words aside, but everything felt off. Caspian wasn’t the type to meddle in other people’s matters, so what was he hiding?
1 shook my head as I stepped into the bathroom, I had more important things to worry about. My parents
Their lives were in danger and one thing I couldn’t afford right now was distractions
And by distractions I mean Damian and Julian
By the time I had managed to arrive for werewolf history class, the lecture hall was filled with noise.
I noticed Julian was sitting comfortably at the front, calm yet Charming. He seemed more relaxed than how he had looked last night when he dropped me off at the hostel.
While Damien stood at the front of the room, his intimidating aura filled the air. He looked every bit the Alpha–strong, cold, distant. The moment his eyes met with mine I felt a strange pull and I’m sure he felt it too
I stared at him for a couple of seconds before casually turning my face away.
When the lecture finally ended, I waited patiently for Julian
“Julian,” I called out to him, my voice low yet commanding
“Elars how are you?” He flashed me a sweet warm smile
I ignored his question “Have you been able to sort out what it was that needed your attention last night?.”
His sweet smile faded slightly, and for a moment I felt he was angry “Everything is fine now,” he murmured, stepping closer to me. Thanks for asking“.
His words hung heavy between us.
I’m sorry for how I reacted last night I calmly said
“It’s fine, I know spoke
you must have felt offended by my behavior also and I deeply apologize A muscle ticked in his jaw as he
“It’s fine, I had fun though.” I said as a soft smile appeared on my face
“Is it okay if I make up for last night?” He asked. “We could go get ice creams? It doesn’t have to be a date”
I hesitated for a few moments
“Im not going to take you hostage,” he said quietly “I promise.”
He stated at me and I felt my words get stuck in my
“Okay then ” My voice trembled despite how hard I tried to keep it steady. “What time”
“Uhm,” he said softly “Meet me by Nine o’clock at the gate of your hostel
Time seemed to slow down. No matter how hard I tried to focus on anything else, my thoughts kept drifting back to Julian-
and then to Datnjen

When it was 9 pm, 1 slowly walked towards the hostel’s gate e and I found Julian waiting, leaning casually against his car.
“You came,” he said softly “I was starting to think you stood me up”
“Oh, I’m sorry.
He sighed as if carrying a weight I couldn’t see. “I honestly didn’t want you caught up in all this, Elara. But I feel you have to know something”
I looked at him in confusion. “Does this have to do with why you left.”
Julian stepped closer, the faint smell of pine and smoke surrounding him. “Yes”
“I don’t understand. What do I have to do with your family affair” I asked in confusion
“It’s not about you, it’s about Dante” he admitted. “But it’s bigger than just Dante alone. There’s something dangerous lurking around and 1…
“Dangerous how?” A cold chill slid down my spine.
He hesitated for a moment “My father doesn’t believe Damien is as innocent as he wants us to believe. He thinks Damien might be hiding something about the night his parents died
I froze, “I don’t… I don’t understand what you’re saying” I stared at him in disbelief “Why exactly would your father care about Dante and his late parents?”
Julian’s lips twisted into a bitter smile. “Because Elara, the death of an Alpha has ripple effects. Everyone is a suspect including him, well mostly him”
His expression softened. ‘I’m sorry for telling you all this, I just want us to be on the same page, especially after how I behaved last night”
For a moment, I wanted to believe him
My heart jumped into my throat, I didn’t need to turn around to know who it was,
Damien
I turned around only to find his grey eyes locked onto mine, bu
What was he so angry about?
mine, burning with
anger.
“What the hell are you doing here, Elara?”
I stared at him for a second, puzzled as to why he was asking such a silly question….
Tm on a date, Damian, why?” I casually said as I stared back at him.
Damian gaze darted between n me and Julian “Date? Who
Julian smiled, “helax, Damien,” he drawled.
What do you mean by date?”
Tielior! Did you just say Relax” Damien’s lips curled into a snarl
“Yes, I did” Julian sighed as he straightened himself ready for whatever Damian had to bring

Julian let out a small laugh “And if I don’17”

“Enough both of you, stop behaving like children for heaven’s sake, argh” I screamed in anger and frustration.
For a second, neither of them moved
Damien’s gaze softened as he looked at me. “Be careful, Elara,” he said quietly, and with that, he turned and left
I’m sorry Elara. Julian spoke
“Goodnight Julian” I softly said and walked back in the direction I had come from
It was now very obvious that I was standing between two strong forces and if I wasn’t careful. I would get destroyed before I even began
