Chapter Sixteen
Julian’s POV –
My heart hammered against my rib cage at the sight before me, the rogue almost sinking his fangs into Elara’s wolf. I jumped right in front of her, unnoticed by the rogue; my claws dug into its stomach.
The rogue let out a deafening cry, his golden fleck of eyes travelling down to Elara behind me as he sprinted, the blood trailing out of him.
“Don’t chase“. Elara’s tiny voice whispered, my gaze darted towards her tear–stricken face. She must have had a shock. I hadn’t realized I was growling, my wolf was just on the surface to shift and chase
The wage of war between me and the rogue ended so faster than I planned and that was because he had grown weak after taking it all on Damian.
It took me every ounce of my self–consciousness to not touch her and carry her to the clinic. Her shoulder is dripping with blood, but her wolf is doing a great job healing her
I looked at the cranny of my eyes as she took a slow step toward Damian, who was sitting on the floor, his hands reaching out to Elara.
I never had the plan to approach her until I noticed the sudden change in Elara. She stood up with tears rolling down her cheeks, a part of me wanted to clean up the tears in her eyes.
Spotting
Damian’s h
hands in midair, he clenched his fist as he made his way to us.
We still have a long way to go. As much as he is still present, I will continue to use him to my advantage in changing situations and winning favours.” A smirk crept onto my lips while getting myself to charge and feigned pretence.
I interrupted the little interaction between ‘Elara and Damian.
“I didn’t have him saved to flaunt his incomplete victory. “I said between my gritted teeth as a string pulled in me as I saw them exchanging unsaid words impregnated with emotions.
“Are you hurt? How are you feeling? “Hope you aren’t feeling any pain?“, I narrowed my eyes, my stained palm grazing all over her body to check if she’s hurt anywhere else.
“I am fine“, her weak voice set a relief in my heart and I heaved a low sigh
Not giving it a second thought, I stretched out my toned arms still stained with the rogue blood, placing my ideas on trial, awaiting which Elara would go for
“If my theory is right, she will go with me…I thought.
The silence built up between us, Silence filled with doubt and curiosity, Damian demeanour evident in hope and anticipation while I wore my calm demeanour, my lips curled into a snarl
I noticed Clara’s hesitation, but what’s the fun if I withdrew my hand
I was about to dissolve the eerie silence when I felt a lender, toned fragile skin rapidly slipping into my palm. My snarl morphed into a sly smile, my countenance conspicuous by the impact of the excitement earned from Damian’s disappointing and murderous looks
“You look okay now, your wolf did a lot of great work healing your wounds “You can go and relax to heal fast and recover“, Igned concern as I emphasized my last words in a sarcastic tone before trailing behind Clara, who had left us on the spot
I left Damian’s jaws hung in the air, his muscles twitched and indisputably

“I love this!” 1 hinted while clucking my tongue into my inner cheeks.
“How are you feeling now though?”
“Are you asking because you felt those worries of earlier weren’t genuine?” Elara retorted in a tone slightly laced with a burning rage
you accept it nevertheless?” I countered, wearing my neutral smile She halted her pace, mischievously licking her gaze at me, too intense to sever through my soul, building a sudden silence
even at the brink of death, you are still serious, you are e no fun to play with
“Let’s head to the hospital so you can return to your dorm before an alarm is raised. We will talk tomorrow after your class I declared, averting her gaze to her arms that had some scratches.
first
Turning away, snubbing my confrontation, we marched to the school clinic where her wound was attended to. Her sudden rise of silence got me worried She had always been engaging except now
We were a few minutes to their hostel, where I saw Sabrina wrapped in a shawl, consistently draping her hand over and over across her shoulder, proof of the sudden change in the climate:
“You can head back from here and
Thanks for…. today? She asserted, her voice laced with frustration with other emotions I couldn’t point out. A knot formed within me as the thought of her growing so intense and attracted to Damian might have a huge effect on my plan
Sabrina who had her gazed affixed on the opposite side of the road with the notion that she would be coming from there. Gently tapping her on the shoulder, nudging her to take her leave already.
“Huhnm
She said without countering my words, so unlike her, she lost control over her
reaction.
I left immediately after seeing Sabrina burst out of concern about her.
I got a message from Dad, I need the news that might have reached him regarding the rogue. Everything is an opportunity that must not be underestimated by him
I decided to stop by the firm to pick up a few things when a chill pain suddenly seeped through me, snapping me to the reality that I had unfinished business with Damian even though the blow wa from Caspian
I scramble up, spitting the blood out of my mouth from my cut lips through the impact of the punch.
I burst into laughter, Caspian reaction to the whole situation was kinda surprising especially when I knew he would rather stay in his lane than get himself into uncertainty.
guess this is from your Alpha? Sarcasm played in my tone
“I will take everything but not this” He stated while showing me a blog on it boldly inscribed Two new lecturers fighting over their student and after that was a picture of mine and Elern when I gently tapped her on the shoulder
I smuk mischievously while slightly nodding my head in a back–and–forth position.
What makes you think I did this? “Well, with Damian, it’s an honour to me and whoever is involved” I winced in pain when another punch sent a shiver through me, not leaving a great impact as before, though
“You seemed so concerned, why are you so bothered? Is this from Damian–or you. I said in my squatting position, my eyes furrowed scrutinizing and observing every of his move and reaction
I clapped my hand, the sound echoing through the lawn, colliding with the sudden silence except for the sound –

footsteps as I paced in a circle.
My brow knitted, complimenting my slight smirk, exuding my curious state like someone dedicating his time to select his card.
“This has nothing to do with Sabrina so the best explanation here is Are you also entangled in this triangle or.
“You’re carrying your Alpha’s order?“, I quickened a brow at him.
