Bobby recoiled in shock.
Frowning, Zachary stopped Nina from kneeling. “Nina, he’s just a lowly staff member. There’s no need to lower yourself like
that.”
Hearing him say that, I nearly screamed. If Bobby was lowly, then what was Nina? Was she not a shameless mistress hiding
in the shadows?
Bobby kept his tone respectful as he said, “Mr. Finch, the staff said there’s already a faint smell of decay. Are you really not going to check?”
дело
Nina clung to Zachary’s arm. “Zac, why don’t we go take a look? Sarah’s due any day now. We can’t risk something happening
to the babies.”
“Fine, we’ll go take a look.”
Zachary, who had been refusing to budge all along, gave in the moment Nina spoke.
At that moment, memories of all my sweet moments with Zachary surged through my mind. Then, they shattered like
bubbles, vanishing without a trace.
The second they stepped into the water tank room, Zachary’s face turned ugly. “Who took a dump in here?”
No one answered.
Only Bobby walked forward and stopped in front of my tank. “Mr. Finch, Mrs. Finch is in here.”
Zachary’s face darkened even further as he walked over. Nina gagged from the smell and rushed off to vomit,
I followed him, curious to see what my body looked like now.
When I was first locked in, I kept pounding on the tank. Since it was made of metal, they couldn’t see the sheer terror on my
face.
Because of my claustrophobia, I went into early labor. Just like that, my water broke, and I screamed for help, but no one
came to open the valve.
To be fair, it wasn’t the staff members‘ fault. They were just doing what they were paid to do.
The one truly to blame was Zachary. It had always been his fault.
