The “her” Zachary was referring to was me, of course.
I scoffed. After all this time, he still couldn’t bring himself to believe I was really dead?
Just then, a deliveryman appeared at the door. “Are you Mr. Zachary Finch?” he asked.
Zachary snapped out of his daze. “Yes.”
The deliveryman handed over a package. “This is from Mr. Wilson.”
Mr. Wilson?
In that instant, I knew exactly who it was.
He was a former colleague of mine, Joseph Wilson. We trained together every day, ate together, and joked around. If it weren’t for Zachary, I probably would have ended up with him.
