My ex-husband’s Ch 27

My ex-husband's Ch 27

Falling 27

Hearing this, Florentino pecked her forehead soothingly. Then he picked up a pen on the desk, signed the resignation decisively, and shoved it toward Sandria.

“As you wish.”

Sandria had been nothing but obedient last night. And today, she suddenly showed up here, causing trouble for him?

Sure enough, he should never be lenient with her.

Suddenly, he felt so fed up with her. If she kept being so willful and dramatic, he might seriously consider dumping her for good.

The sight of the affectionate pair turned Sandria’s stomach.

She picked up the paper and glanced at Florentino mockingly.

“Dude, your front door’s unlocked.”

After saying this, she walked out, not sparing them another glance.

Florentino lowered his head to check and instantly pulled an even longer face.

Meanwhile, Courtney’s expression changed a little, too. But she took a deep breath before saying, “Ms. Farley, wait. Why don’t you have some water before leaving? You look terrible.”

With that, she picked up a teacup from the desk and handed it over with an affectedly warming smile.

Sandria looked at her icily without moving.

Courtney walked toward her, seemingly about to put the teacup into her hand.

Just then, she tripped. Letting out a sharp cry, she fell right toward Sandria.

The scalding tea would spill in the next second.

Just then, Sandria stepped aside and tilted her body in time. Then she gripped Courtney’s wrist and pushed Courtney

away.

Every last bit of the tea splashed onto Courtney’s wrist.

She screamed miserably, her piercing shriek echoing in the quiet office.

Sandria found her lame trick laughable.

Tossing her cascading curls aside, she said with a careless smile, “Oops, that looks painful. Ms. Mosley, you should be more careful.”

Chapter 27

The back of Courtney’s fair hand reddened, blisters forming.

“Courty! Are you OK? Sandria, you did this on purpose!”

Florentino panicked. He rushed toward Courtney without hesitation and pushed Sandria aside.

Caught off guard, Sandria lost balance due to his brute force. She stumbled back, her slender arm slamming hard against the sharp edge of the desk.

A sharp pain shot through her, and she looked down, only to see blood streaming down her arm.

However, he couldn’t even be bothered to glance at her.

He carefully held Courtney’s injured hand, picked her up, and rushed outside, his face filled with distress and anxiety.

“Don’t be afraid, Courty. I’ll take you to the hospital right now. Sandria, I’ll deal with you when I get back.”

Sandria stood in place, the searing pain from the wound on her arm turning her fingers numb.

She lowered her gaze, sneered, and pressed a few tissues to the wound.

Exactly how stupid she had been? What was she thinking, clinging to Florentino like he was the best man in the world?

As soon as she stepped out of the office, she met dozens of gossipy eyes.

Linda, who had never gotten along with her, immediately walked over. Crossing her arms over her chest, she grinned, gloating.

“Well, well. Isn’t this Sandria? You were fired? Finally. And what happened to your arm? How come it’s bleeding? Gee… Serves you right.”

Sandria stopped in her tracks and glanced at Linda indifferently.

“You were wrong. I didn’t get fired. I quit.”

She waved the resignation letter casually and smiled mockingly.

“Honestly, you should spare your concern for yourself.

“That goody two–shoes will come for you next. I’m just the first she dealt with. After all, she’s Mr. Burnham’s beloved. Do you really think she’ll tolerate any woman in this office being prettier than her?”

Linda’s expression changed slightly, but she soon regained composure,

“Stop trying to sow discord, Sandria. Admit ityou’re just jealous. Ms. Mosley is pretty, kind–hearted, and well–bred. She’s way better than any of us. Unlike you, she’s not scheming at all.”

Sandria couldn’t be bothered to waste another second on such an idiot.

She scoffed and headed straight to the elevator in her heels, leaving those disdainful or pitiful gazes far behind her.

Chapter 27

After leaving the Burnham Group building, she went to the nearest private hospital.

The cut on her arm wasn’t deep, but it still needed to be treated properly because it had been bleeding.

The nurse dealt with her wound gently, but she still couldn’t help but gasp.

“Ma’am, this needs a couple of stitches, or it’ll likely scar.”

Sandria nodded. As she was about to speak, someone violently shoved the door open.
