Chapter 116

Edward knew that my specialty was women’s wear. Nearly very award I had won thus far had been for women’s clothing.
The only time I had ever received an award for men’s wear was right before graduation. That design was still locked behind the glass cabinet at the National Academy’s fashion design course.
The only other piece I had made for a man was Edward’s welding tuxedo. It was perfectly crafted, too.
See, it wasn’t that I couldn’t design men’s clothing well. It was just that I had limited time and energy to focus my branding, and I believed women’s clothing was the more rewarding choice.
I didn’t want to respond to him at all.
But somehow, he guessed it correctly anyway. “You’re making a suit for Soren.”
Edward didn’t even phrase it as a question. He was that sure of himself.
1 straightened up from my work and said more firmly, “Get out of here, Edward.”
He suddenly stepped forward and grabbed my wrist. “How close are you two?! I’ve never seen you make clothes for any man except me! But now, you’re already making one for him?”
The thought that a latecomer like Soren could rival his position triggered something in him.
His grip hurt. Worse, he was holding my hand high in the air–the same hand that was holding a pair of tailor’s scissors.
These scissors were well–known for the sharpness of their tips and blades!
I struggled a little but couldn’t free myself. “Let go, Edward! I’m holding something sharp, for God’s sake!”
He didn’t seem to hear me. Jealousy had consumed him.
“Didn’t you hear me? Maddison is dead now, Taylor! We can be together again!
“We’ve been together for more than six years! I don’t believe you could just stop loving me like that! You’re doing all of this to make me jealous!” he barked.
What kind of narcissistic bullshit was that?
“Holly shit, you’re nuts!” I yelled.
My phone rang. I turned.
Shit, it was Soren! Should I answer it?
Before I could decide, Edward saw the screen too.
His eyes filled with rage and hostility.
I could tell he was about to try to grab my phone, so I quickly turned to take it. But his arm was longer than mine, and my mobility was limited.
“Give me my phone back!” I shouted.
He ignored me and answered the call. “Fuck you, Kenway! Stop harassing Taylor! We’re never getting a divorce, don’t even think about taking her from me!”

“What the hell?! Mr. Kenway and I aren’t even in any kind of romantic relationship!” I protested.

“You told me you’ve slept with him!” he shrieked, his face twisted into a grotesque expression. “You’re making a suit for him! Stop lying!”
I didn’t want Soren to listen to this circus. I tried to grab my phone again, but Edward extended his arm and moved the phone out of reach.
As this battle dragged on, I got so distracted by it that I finally dropped the scissors.
I felt a sharp pain in my forearm. Then, suddenly, Edward exhaled sharply and trembled.
I looked down and saw the scissors lying next to his shoes. It must’ve hit him.
I finally released his wrist to check myself. It turned out I had a small gash on my forearm as well.
