Chapter 210
Candy paid for our meal generously, slapping the receipt into my hand as though she were giving me alms.” There. Paid for you. Enjoy your meal.”
She thought I would be humiliated, but honestly, I welcomed it.
I glanced at the receipt and raised an eyebrow. She had paid 850 dollars! Now, that was what I called a win!
“Thank you for your generosity,” I said, turning to Amanda “Yo, if I’d known we were gonna have a schmuck paying for our food, I would’ve ordered the most expensive thing on the menu!”
Amanda snickered to herself.
Candy glared at me. “Taylor!”
“Hey now, it was just a friendly ribbing. You’re a beautiful, generous soul. That makes you a beautiful, generous schmuck, at worst,” I said.
Amanda laughed so hard she nearly slapped the table.
Candy gritted her teeth and stomped her fool. “Don’t get too smug, Taylor. We’ll be seeing each other a lot more from now on… You won’t get to feel superior for long, mark my word.”
With that, she stormed off with her friend.
I sneered. “She’s grown everything except her brain cells. She’s just as stupid as she was back then.”
“I think it’s because she’s grown her boobs.”
I was baffled.
“Didn’t you notice? She had a boob job too. She was strutting around, showing off for you, sis,” Amanda pointed
out.
I was stunned. I hadn’t noticed that!
“She wants to beat you even in things like boob size! I think she got them two cup sizes bigger.
I was speechless. People had always praised my figure and said they envied it, but only I knew how much trouble having big breasts could bring.
I couldn’t handle deep–V collars too well. If my clothes were too loose, they could hide my breasts but make me look hulking and large.
If I wore something tight, the curves became too obvious, and people would give the least charitable reading of my choice of clothing
I might not care about what people said, but I hated being ogled by perverts.
I had once considered undergoing a procedure to downsize my breasts, but I was scared of the pain–so yeah, that didn’t happen.
“Whatever. Let’s just eat,” I said.
Amanda nodded. “You’ve changed, Taylor. You used to be too proud to accept that sort of thing.”
I smiled. “Life changes you, man. Being proud isn’t always the right thing to do! Sometimes, you need to take advantage. See? We didn’t pay a dime for an 850–dollar meal.”

Amanda laughed. “Can’t argue with that!”

I wanted to drive Amanda to the place she needed to be after dinner, but she hailed a cab. “It’s about a two–hour journey for a return trip from there. It’s too much trouble for you!”
Well, okay then! “See ya tomorrow, Manny.”
“Bye!”
Once I was home, I quickly retrieved an express mail from the court. I opened it with joy.
It was the verdict document!
I set it down on the table and admired it. We had been going through this torment for months, but now it was here. Liberation set my heart aflame!
