The video showed Edith, drugged and out of her mind, offering herself to both of them–making it clear that spe hadn’t been raped.
The police had believed all along that the suspects had drugged Edith before assaulting her, which would have made the case much more serious for them.
Moreover, the Kennedys had hired an excellent lawyer who used his connections with higher–ups to ensure the suspects would face severe punishment.
It all seemed set in stone, until I handed over the video evidence.
“To be honest, both suspects have always denied drugging Miss Kennedy, but they had no proof to support their innocence. The Kennedys were insistent on pressing charges.
“But after you submitted that video evidence, the nature of the crime changed: the victim had drugged herself, allowing the suspects to take advantage of her.
“Though both of them will still be sent to prison, they’ll likely receive a lighter sentence now that the truth has come to light,” Ace explained after reviewing the case.
I couldn’t help but snicker when I heard all of that, thinking how Edward was a real expert at getting his little sister into trouble.
I truly wouldn’t have submitted the video evidence if they hadn’t gone back on their word.
At first, I’d been heartbroken, knowing Edith had been taken advantage of by those men–an experience that would traumatize her for life.
“This has now become two separate cases, Miss Jones.
“For your case, you’ll have no involvement in any of this if you stick to your story that you had no idea the drink was spiked and that you gave Miss Kennedy your drink out of kindness.
“Miss Kennedy is suing someone for sexual assault, but now she’ll also face a suit for drugging you.
“With all the evidence now in the open, she’ll be tried for attempting to cause severe harm to another person through drugs–a crime with its own consequences,” Ace assured me.
“Understood. I hope the police and the court can deliver justice in this matter.”
After sending Ace off, I thought about how much of a mess the Kennedys must be in. They’d brought all of this chaos upon themselves.

Suddenly, Cherry knocked on my door and entered with a troubled expression. “Tay Tay…”
“What’s the matter?”
Cherry pouted. “Ms. Thompson hasn’t been to work the past two days, and the janitors can’t find her. They’re asking if she’s been fired or if they should wait for her to return.”

I thought for a moment before saying, “Contact a few debt collectors. I want the ones known for being ruthless when collecting debts–ones who might even force their debtors to take naked photos.”
