After a few seconds, I teased him, “Lord Soren? His most illustrious Lord Soren?”
Soren shot me a cold look. “This isn’t gonna work.”
“What can I do to make it work?” I asked sincerely.
He didn’t respond. His chiseled lips remained pressed together. I shook his hand, but he swiftly jerked it away from my grip.
I sighed. “You’re so juvenile.”
Suddenly, I aimed my camera at his face.
Alert, he demanded, “What are you doing?”
“Recording Lord Soren’s tantrum for posterity. It’s a rare phenomenon, you know?” I said, pressing the record button.
I always knew how to get under someone’s skin.
Soren panicked. He lunged to snatch my phone, but I ducked, retorting, “Hey, a gentleman doesn’t try to steal a lady’s property!”
He sprang from his seat. Using his height advantage, he easily grabbed my phone.
I stood up, circled the table, and cried, “Wait! Don’t delete it! Can’t I at least keep it for myself?”
He dodged every move I made. I didn’t even realize I was getting closer and closer to his chest as I tried to take it back
Finally, I grabbed my phone. Seeing that he hadn’t deleted the video, I sighed in relief–only to feel his arms suddenly wrap around me.
I realized, a moment too late, that he’d planned this.
My cheeks burned as I pushed him away slightly. “What are you doing?”
He ignored me, gripped my chin to force me to look up at him, and leaned in. His face searched for the right angle before his lips claimed mine.
I shivered. My phone slipped from my hand and got caught between us. He set it on the table, then cradled my neck with his arm.
“S–Soren… Not here… Someone might see…” I whispered.
“No one’s gonna enter,” he whispered, breathing against my ear before deepening the kiss.
That’s why he had told the manager to leave us alone unless we specifically called for them.
I panicked. The way we were positioned was so suggestive sitting on his lap, feeling something pressing against me from his pants.
I grew nervous and pushed him away a little. “S–Soren, you’re…“.
“What are you worried about?” he asked quietly, his head blocking the overhead light. He looked dazzling

“I–I-“I started.
“You really think I’m that kind of guy?” he asked with a lopsided grin. “Sure, I’m tempted. But I’m not the type to forget where I am.”
My face flushed. My heart raced. I couldn’t speak as I gazed into his seductive eyes. He smiled, then kissed me again.
This time, I had no excuse to pull away. I gripped the corner of his shirt and let him kiss me. If this could help improve his mood, well, I wouldn’t mind.
The kiss lingered. My lips felt like they’d been drained dry.
Eventually, I pulled away. “This is enough, right?”
