“Oh, okay.”
I knew Soren could tell I was nervous. He was deliberately lving the space, letting me ease into the situation at
my own pace.
The moment he stepped into the elevator, I took a deep breath and forced myself to relax.
“Calm down, Taylor… Don’t overthink this….
“He said he wouldn’t force you. He’s not rushing anything, and he’s treating you with respect. That means nothing’s going to happen tonight.
“There are plenty of rooms here. We definitely won’t be sleeping in the same bed,” I muttered under my breath.
I composed myself as best I could and headed upstairs.
Just as I stepped out of the elevator, Soren emerged from a bedroom. “You’re here already? Anyway, this is your room for tonight. I’ve tidied it up, and there are fresh clothes on the bed for you.”
I froze. “Fresh clothes?”
“Yeap…” His lips curved slightly as he walked toward me.
He paused, then added, “I picked out some women’s clothes for you after the last time you came over. I thought it’d be more convenient if you visited now and then ”
The calm I’d worked so hard to regain crumbled in an instant.
“You bought them yourself?” I asked
He hummed in response.
My head felt light, flooded with a strange, indescribable feeling–somewhere between joy and unease.
I could feel the respect he was giving me, yet it also felt like I’d fallen right into his trap.
“What’s wrong?” Soren gently took my hand, concern flickering in his eyes as he noticed me swaying slightly.
“Nothing… It’s just…. I think the room’s too warm. A little hot, even,” I stammered.
I fidgeted with my fingers, avoiding his gaze.
He swallowed hard, his eyes locked on my face. “You’re right. You do look a bit flushed…”
Before I could react, the back of his fingers brushed softly against my cheek, sending a shiver down my spine.
“Um… Which room did you say I’m staying in again?” I blurted out, desperate to break the tension.
Soren hesitated, swallowed again, then turned and gestured “It’s this one over here. Come on, I’ll show you.”
He led me inside and switched on all the lights. “Here you go. It’s got an en–suite too, so you should have everything you need.”
I looked around, pleasantly surprised. It was more than twice the size of my bedroom in my rental apartment.
This is nice.” I nodded, casting him a shy glance.
“Your clothes are right here. Why don’t you go freshen up? he suggested.

Twatched as he turned and walked away.
After a moment’s hesitation, I found myself standing in front of the door, staring. But I didn’t lock it.
Honestly, I didn’t know what I was thinking.
I didn’t want to do anything that might send the wrong message, yet part of me hoped something would happen.
I was 26 years old, inexperienced, but not naive.
As warm water cascaded over my skin, my thoughts drifted to all the movie scenes I’d watched over the years those passionate, breathtaking moments, overflowing with emotion.
When I finished, I stared at my reflection in the mirror… at my inexperienced body, now aching with a longing I didn’t fully understand.
At that moment, I knew that if things didn’t work out with Soren, I wouldn’t be able to open my heart to anyone else again.
Thus, I wanted to give him everything–myself, my love, my all.
Just like I told him that day… I wanted to love recklessly, wholeheartedly, and without regret, no matter what came after.
I was lost in thought, heat surging through me, until a sudden knock at the door jerked me back to reality.
“You’re not done yet?” Soren asked.
I flinched at the sound of his voice, guilt crashing over me as I realized what I’d been thinking just moments
before.
“I am! Just drying my hair,” I called out, poking my head out of the bathroom door.
“Need help?”
