Chapter 2 The Legendary Damian
Deborah felt like she was going to die.
The man’s strength was overwhelming—like a god of war tearing through the battlefield, relentless and brutal, determined to shatter her completely.
He stayed behind her the entire time. She never got a clear look at his face.
Each time she tried to turn her head, he silenced her with a hard, possessive kiss—followed by something even more savage than before.
The overwhelming assault left both her body and soul in pieces.
Eventually, drained by fear and exhaustion, she passed out.
She didn’t know how long she slept, but the sky outside had started to lighten.
In a haze, she felt someone wrap their arms around her. The touch was no longer rough—instead, it was gentle, almost tender.
“…Simon?” she called out, panic flickering in her chest. Her eyes flew open. “Simon!”
The first thing she saw was Simon’s familiar, handsome face. The beauty mark at the corner of his eye stood out clearly.
She didn’t know what she was thinking. With effort, she raised her hand, touched the mark with her fingertip, and rubbed it hard.
It didn’t smudge. It wasn’t fake. It was real.
She suddenly felt like crying.
“What’s wrong? Was I too rough last night? Did I scare you?” Simon asked gently, taking her hand and pressing a kiss to her fingers.
His smile was still warm, soft as spring breeze. “I’m sorry. I had a bit too much to drink… and it was my first time. I lost control.”
It was his first time too…
Deborah’s pale cheeks turned red.
“Don’t be afraid,” he murmured, lowering his head to kiss her lips. “I’ll be gentler from now on.”
His kiss trailed downward from her lips to her neck, slowly continuing its path.
“W-Wait…” Deborah gasped, cupping his face in both hands to stop him. “Let me… just look at you a little longer.”
Her gaze locked on the beauty mark by his eye, dazed and uncertain. Something felt off. The mark was the same, but its aura felt different—less warmth, more edge. A cruel sharpness she couldn’t quite explain.
Simon looked back at her, the corners of his lips curling into a smile with unreadable meaning. “If one day I lost this beauty mark… would you still recognize me?”
Deborah exhaled slowly. “They say you and your brother are complete opposites. Of course I’d know.”
“Good,” he said with a faint smirk. Then he leaned in and kissed her—fiercely.
It was a kiss full of hunger and dominance, as if he wanted to consume her completely.
The wildness of it sent a tremor through her already tender body.
Without warning, Simon flipped her onto her stomach.
“Simon…” she whispered. She thought, ‘Not again—from behind.’ That position terrified her.
He stared down at her delicate, pale back, his gaze darkening with something raw and primal.
She couldn’t see him, but the cold, violent energy that had haunted her since last night still lingered—thicker now, heavier.
She wanted to turn around, to confirm the feeling—but there was no chance.
Simon grabbed her legs, yanked them apart, and thrust forward without hesitation.
“Mm…” Deborah bit down hard on her lip.
The pain was sharp. Her brows furrowed, and beads of cold sweat broke out on her forehead.
Simon behind her was like a beast—ruthless and untamed. His grip on her waist was firm, unrelenting.
It was another night of madness.
*****
The next morning, when Deborah woke, she was alone.
Simon had been far too rough. Her legs ached so much it was hard to walk, and her gait was noticeably off.
Today, she had to enter the palace to formally greet the imperial elders.
What she didn’t expect was that Simon had left at dawn for a secret mission.
Instead, the one escorting her to the palace was Damian, Simon’s identical twin.
As she stepped into the courtyard, she overheard two maids whispering nearby, “Prince Damian returned just this morning—he left three days ago to crush a rebel uprising outside the city.”
“Yeah. He missed Prince Simon’s wedding entirely, but rushed back just in time to escort lady Deborah into the palace.”
“Prince Damian really treats his sister-in-law well.”
All the maids looked at Deborah with admiration and envy.
This was her first time seeing the legendary Damian.
He descended the stone steps dressed in jet-black robes, his entire presence cold, quiet, and commanding.
The moment Deborah saw his face, something slammed into her chest like a hammer.
Her entire body went cold. Her vision went dark. She almost collapsed right then and there…
