My lady remember Ch 3

My lady remember Ch 3

Chapter 3 Can You Recognize?
Deborah had always known that Damian and Simon looked alike—but she never imagined they could look this identical.
As he descended the steps, his tall, imposing figure seemed wrapped in a chill, like frost clinging to every inch of him. Cold. Commanding. Unapproachable.
He had the kind of presence that made you instinctively avert your eyes after a single glance—because a second one felt like a challenge you wouldn’t survive.
That overwhelming air of authority hung over him like divine judgment. Just being near him made it hard to breathe.
And just like that, she realized—no matter how similar they looked, he and Simon were nothing alike.
As he approached, Deborah quickly stepped forward and curtsied. “Your Highness.”
He didn’t respond.
Damian walked past her like she wasn’t even there. To him, she was air—completely beneath notice.
He climbed into the carriage, and the curtain fell behind him, sealing in that aura of coldness.
Deborah finally exhaled—only for the guard, Thomas Balland, to speak up beside her, “Princess Deborah, I’m afraid your carriage is out of commission.”
Her heart sank. “Is there time to fix it?”
Today was the second day of her marriage. If she failed to return to the palace in time to pay respects to the royal elders, it would be a serious breach of etiquette.
Thomas hesitated. “It can be repaired—but likely not in time. His Highness has offered to let you ride with him so you’re not delayed.”
‘Ride with him?’ She glanced at the large, formal carriage ahead and felt her chest tighten. She didn’t know why—but something about Damian made her uneasy.
Seeing her hesitate, Thomas urged again, “The hour is getting late, Princess Deborah. Please.”
Left with no choice, Deborah stepped into the carriage.
It was spacious inside. Damian sat at the main seat, while she kept her gaze low and took a place at his side.
From the moment she sat down, she could feel it—his eyes were on her.
The weight of his gaze settled over her like a mountain. Every breath became a little harder to take.
“Y-Your Highness… is there something on my face?” she asked quietly.
She hadn’t even looked up, but she could feel him staring.
Still, he said nothing. His eyes never left her.
“Is there something you wish to say to me?” she asked again, her tone polite but strained.
The silence was unbearable. Two people in the same carriage, and he hadn’t said a single word—just stared at her with that unreadable expression.
Damian’s lips were pressed into a tight line. He still didn’t speak, but his gaze burned.
It wasn’t curiosity or disapproval—it was heat. Intense, penetrating, and utterly inappropriate, like he was imagining her with her clothes off.
A chill ran down her spine. She wanted nothing more than to leap out of the moving carriage.
She thought, ‘He’s my husband’s brother. How could he look at me like this?’
“Your Highness…”
But before she could finish, his cold voice cut through the air. “If I had a beauty mark by my eye too… would you still know which man was on top of you last night?”
The blood drained from her face. She nearly fell off the seat. She never dreamed he’d say something so—so blunt.
Images from the night before crashed into her mind—his body behind hers, the relentless force, the arms that held her down while her cries were swallowed by silence.
Her cheeks flushed crimson. She clutched her collar on instinct.
“Oh? Looking so shy in front of me—is that your way of seducing me?” he said coolly, voice laced with mockery.
“N-no! You misunderstand, Your Highness!” she stammered, panicked. “If I’ve offended you, I’ll get down right now.”
She stood, flustered—but just then, the carriage jolted forward. Caught off guard, she stumbled and fell hard to the floor.
She looked down—her hands had grabbed onto something. Fabric.
Her heart stopped. She looked up—straight into Damian’s dark, unreadable eyes.
He was looking down at her, calm and still, yet radiating authority.
Only then did Deborah realize—she had fallen right between his legs.
And her face… was inches from the most private part of him.
