Chapter 8
Damian didn’t have the courage to return home anymore.
Even he didn’t know where he was supposed to go.
He just drove aimlessly through the city streets, the neon lights outside the window muddling into a blur of colors, just like his chaotic thoughts.
Without even realizing it, he ended up outside the old, rundown orphanage on the city’s outskirts.
This was where it had all begun.
He suddenly remembered it. The rift between him and Seraphina had started the day he brought Vivian back to the pack.
If he could turn back time… If he had never met Vivian… What would things be like now?
His mind was a haze.
By the pale moonlight, he saw two figures arguing outside the orphanage’s gates. Even in the darkness, he
immediately recognized Vivian.
The other was a male werewolf… Obviously a rogue werewolf that had been expelled by his Pack, judging by his tainted aura.
Damian was so unfocused, he had forgotten to turn on his headlights. The two didn’t notice his approach at all.
It was as if some invisible force was pulling him closer. Damian stopped the car, turned the engine off, into the shadows to approach the two.
For the first time, he heard Vivian speak in a tone that was so sharp and brutal.
