Chapter 10
Leo and I held our Mating Ceremony the second year after I left the training facility.
We had a lovely daughter, and on her first birthday, we threw a grand celebration for her.
When the party was over and I walked out to see the last guests off, I caught sight of two familiar yet distant figures standing
under the trees.
It was Damian and Ethan.
That year, I was thirty–four, and they were both nearly forty.
Damian sat in a specially made wheelchair. He was no longer exuding any trace of an Alpha’s aura. His Wolf Soul… It was so
weak, it looked ready to fade at any moment.
I was a little surprised, and couldn’t help but look again.
They must have been standing there a long time, but they didn’t have the bravery to come any closer. Sensing my gaze, a
glimmer of joy flashed in their eyes.
Ethan hurried over, pushing the wheelchair.
Only then did I notice that they were holding gifts. Ethan nervously handed me a gift box. “This is for your daughter. I hope… hope she’ll like it.”
There was an unmistakable humility and anxiety in his voice.
I hesitated for a moment, but accepted the gift in the end.

Damian’s eyes brightened as he quickly offered me an ornate box. “After all this time… I still haven’t congratulated you.”
I didn’t know if he meant for my research, my Mating Ceremony, or the birth of my daughter. Even so, I didn’t ask. I accepted the gift and said in a gentle but distant tone, “Thank you.”
Ethan’s hand trembled as he pulled a gift bag from his side and took out a Moonstone necklace. He held it out, not daring to
look up.
“I’m sorry. I’ve owed you this for a long time.”
To me, it wasn’t just a necklace.
