A few days later, my coffee shop was bustling with activity.
Simon Parker made a grand gesture, sending an entire truckload of flower baskets to decorate the shop’s entrance. The spectacle was so extravagant that it drew in curious passersby, eager to snap a picture.
At first, I was a little overwhelmed, but Simon Parker would come by every day during his lunch break to help out. He even brought coffee for the staff, which led to his company’s employees ordering my coffee for their afternoon tea.
As business started to take off, Simon Parker suddenly announced that he wanted to host a wedding celebration.

On the day of the ceremony, I received several calls from unknown numbers. Lucy guessed it was probably from my unfortunate ex–husband, but I ignored it, hanging up immediately.
Looking at Simon Parker, who was still cooking in the kitchen, I felt a fleeting sense of disorientation. Everything had happened so fast, and I wasn’t prepared for it at all.
“What are you standing there for? Come eat,” Simon Parker said as he pulled me into a
chair.

I moved closer to him, locked my gaze with his, and smiled.
“And, you’re so good to me.”
He raised an eyebrow and added a piece of braised pork to my bowl.
