Chapter 80
The next day, as soon as Sabrina woke up, she heard a knock on the door. When she opened it, she was surprised to see Secretary Leah standing there with an unfamiliar couple.}
“Good morning, sister–in–law,” Secretary Leah greeted her politely before leading the couple inside, casually showing them around and discussing prices.
Sabrina’s heart pounded.”
“Secretary Leah, who gave you permission to bring strangers into my house? When did I say I was selling it?” she demanded.
Secretary Leah remained polite but distant.”
“Sister–in–law, Mr. Ward arranged this. He asked me to finalize the sale within three days.“”
“That’s impossible! This is Zach’s family home–why would he sell it?“}
Her voice trembled as she stared at Secretary Leah, then quickly pulled out her phone and dialed Zach.”
The call connected. “Zach, what’s going on? Secretary Leah says you’re selling the house. Why?“>
Zach’s voice was calm, almost indifferent.
“Sabrina, you should start packing. I’ve decided to sell the old house.”
“Why? Why so suddenly? At least talk to me about it first!”
He let out a short, cold laugh.
“I’ve already signed the divorce agreement, and I’m moving to New York with Mr. Wang for new opportunities. I don’t want to hold up your happy family reunion.”
Then, without hesitation, he hung up.
No matter how many times Sabrina tried calling back, Zach didn’t answer. He simply put his phone silent.
Sabrina slowly set down her phone, her face pale. When she looked up, she saw Mickey standing in the living room, the three children beside him.
His gaze darkened as it landed on the divorce agreement on the table.
“Sabrina, what the hell is Ward trying to pull?” Mickey snapped. “How dare he put all the demolition money into a trust fund? That money is your joint property–you should get half! And now he’s selling the house? What does he take you for?”
His voice grew sharper.
“He’s blackmailing you, forcing you to abandon your own children so he can paint you as some heartless, ungrateful mother!”
Then he sneered, “That useless man couldn’t even give you a son, and now he dares to act high and mighty? If nothing else works, take him to court! Once the divorce is finalized, we can finally live together as a proper family.“}
Sabrina’s expression hardened.”
“Mickey, the demolition money came from my father–in–law, and this house is part of Zach’s ancestral property. He has every right to do as he pleases with it. Taking him to court is out of the question,” she said firmly.
Then, her voice softened, but with an unmistakable edge,
“And don’t ever call him useless again. He didn’t have children because of me. I was the one who wronged him, not the other way around. Don’t bring this up again.”}
Mickey’s face twisted with frustration. He pulled Mike and Macky close, his tone growing more insistent.
“Sabrina, you’re too soft–hearted. Think about Mike and the others–they’re your real family, your blood. Zach is just an outsider. Even if you don’t care about yourself, at least think about them! When they grow up, who’s going to buy them cars and houses? Do you want them to end up like me–alone and struggling?”
Sabrina stiffened, staring at Mickey in shock.
He had always said his greatest wish was for the five of them to be together as a family, that money and material things didn’t matter.
But now, the first words out of his mouth were about demolition compensation and the house. He was talking about lawsuits, property rights, and financial security.B
Where was Mickey who once promised never to ask for anything, never to burden her?”
When had everything changed?}
Before she could respond, Secretary Leah let out a low chuckle and stepped forward.
“Sister–in–law, so this is your ‘good fellow villager‘?” He crossed his arms and smirked. “Not only does he want you to bear his children, but now he expects you to provide for him too?“}

Then he shook his head, his voice dripping with sarcasm.
“No wonder Mr. Ward wants to sell the house and move away. Not only did his wife cheat on him, but she’s also trying to make him raise another man’s children and support a deadbeat. Frankly, it’s impressive he hasn’t stabbed someone yet.“}
Mickey’s face turned red with anger.
“Who the hell wants his money? That coward spent all his money on Sabrina! What does any of this have to do with me?” he spat.
Then he straightened his shoulders, speaking with an air of self–righteousness.”
“I give Sabrina emotional support. I put in effort. It’s only right that she spends money on me. What does a mère Secretary like you know?”
