“Did you figure out how the fight got started yesterday?” I ask as I enter the office. Ryan sits behind my desk, typing away at the keyboard. He barely acknowledges me, his eyes narrowed on the screens in front of him
I’d tasked Ryan with finding the start of the fight and the reason for which it happened. The game wasn’t that big of a deal, so a fight of that magnitude shouldn’t have happened. No one, especially Fiona, should have gotten hurt
The news had been covering the incident all morning, and my PR team is busy blocking the accusations until we can figure out the truth.
“Alpha, I had Jake, one of our tech guys, tap into the security footage throughout the entire stadium,” Ryan explains. I make my way around to stand behind him where I can look at the screens. On the right monitor, I see images of several men in red jerseys. On the left monitor, I find images of Fiona in the midst of a large crowd.
“They pulled these images and some videos of Fiona where she is making her way through the crowd. She gets knocked around when the fight starts, but she wasn’t the instigator,” he tells me, and when I glare at him, he adds, “Which we never thought anyway.”
I nod, leaning into look at the blurry images on the screens.
“Play it.”
Pressing play, Ryan sits back and lets me watch the chaos that ensued. At first, Fiona walks through the crowd easily, weaving between fans. There’s too much noise from the cheering fans to hear what she says, but it looks like she speaks with a
worker.
“He doesn’t matter,” Ryan speaks up. I nod and watch Fiona leave the man behind She makes it two floors down before she gets stuck.
It doesn’t take long for the brawl to break out between the opposing teams‘ fans. Red against blue. Screamed insults fall from the monitor’s speakers as fists begin to fly. Fiona does a good job of dodging the fighting fans until someone knocks into her.
“This is where things get interesting,” Ryan says, pointing at the men surrounding Fiona. “These men here, they’re connected with the Bluemoon pack. They started the fight, and we believe it was the only chance they had to get to Fiona”
I growl
The Bluemoon pack is a lower–level pack that believes they deserve better status in the Lycan world. However, they’ve done some questionable things recently that have made them sink lower the status lineup.
They used to be a respectable pack, but their decisions to hurt innocent people and thrive through corruption had them losing their prominence. It’s sad when a reputable pack drives themselves into he ground, and if the Bluemoon pack doesn’t change their ways, that’s exactly where they’ll end up.
In the ground with no sympathy from the Lycan council or other packs.
Recently, they’ve been under investigation for scamming humans. When I reported their Alpha a few months ago for trying to scam one of my business partners, our packs became rivals. Alpha Moore didn’t appreciate me butting into his business and ruining his reputation.
“Once I recognized them,” Ryan brings nie back to the conversation. “I had Jake look into the men, Jake monitored into Bluemoon’s financials and movements all morning and found an email trail between their Gamma and one of the attackers.
“Do you have the emails?”

“Come on, would I have mentioned them if I didn’t?” He asks, wiggling his eyebrows. I roll my eyes at his jest and nod at the computer. I don’t have time to play games. My woman could’ve been killed yesterday
Ryan pulls up another window and the emails between Bluemoon’s third in command, their Gamma, and one of the fighters
As I scan through the words, one particular email stands out
A picture of Fiona walking into a store is at the top of the email with a set of instructions underneath it
Fiona Aldridge is the new prospective Luna for the Silverclaw Pack. Keep tabs on her and if you find a out. We cannot allow the Silverclaw Pack to grow stronger than they are if we are to take them out.
“They were trying to kill her.” I growl, my claws growing and piercing the leather back of my office chair,
“Whoa, but they didn’t!” Ryan shouts, jumping up.
je to strike, take her
Anger burns through my body. Rival packs have been known to go after Lunas in order to weaken the Alpha, but no one, especially the Bluemoon Pack, should know about Fiona. She’s human, and we aren’t even officially together.
“Are they watching us?” I ask, spinning on Ryan. “We would have noticed if there were unwanted Lycans around. They should have been easier to spot here amongst the humans.”
“There haven’t been any reports of Bluemoon Pack members leaving the West, so I assume these men to be human.” Ryan
Human
The Bluemoon Pack is hiring out humans to do their dirty work and to hurt my mate. I knew they were dirty, good for nothing, wolves with no honor, but to put a hit out on a woman who isn’t even my mate yet is ridiculous.
“Was it the Alpha who ordered the hit, his son, or someone trying to climb rank within the pack?”
If it was a lower park member who acted without their Alpha’s word, I can easily deal with that, but if Alpha Moore ordered. Fiona killed, I will take this matter into my own hands if the council doesn’t intervene. I won’t allow Fiona to be attacked
“We’re not sure yet, but I’m looking into it. I’ll find out who is threatening Fiona, and the moment I know, you’ll know
Ryan’s promise makes me feel a bit better, but my wolf and I are still on edge knowing someone out there is gunning
“We’ll rip them to shreds if they touch her,” my wolf snarls, his hackles raised and eyes glowing.
for
“They won’t get away with this,” I promise him. No one hurts my woman and gets away with it, and I know the perfect way to release some of the anger building in my chest.
“When is the challenge from Alpha Moore’s son”
Ryan’s eyebrows bounce up as he looks at me
“Next week”
“Not anymore.” I growl “I want it brought to tomorrow. If he or his pack thinks they can mess with Fiona with no repercussion they’re wrong. If I have to go to him for the challenge, I will. Get the time and place and tell him I won’t wait any longer. If he doesn’t fight tomorrow, he forfeits and loses.”
Ryan’s eyebrows climb even higher on his forehead, but he nods anyway.

Alpha Moore’s son is to take over the Bluemoon pack within the next two years, and I didn’t take his challenge seriously before, but now, he has my attention.
I don’t take kindly to being challenged for a position I earned, but if this pup thinks he can swoop in and take everything from me, he’ll see the light real quick
