Sienna bit a cigarette, her eyes deep in thought. “They’re all in their seventies or eighties. Missing an arm or a leg is nothing unusual at that age.”
“I understand, Miss Enna. But are you sure we really don’t need to go to the hospital?” Lana said.
“No, that’s not necessary. How’s Winifred doing?” Sienna asked,
“Reno watched her go home himself,” Lana said.
Sienna let out a soft sigh. “Lana, do you think I’ve failed as a sister? Before Mom passed away, she made me promise to look after them, but I was gone for ten years.”
Lana could hear the tremor in Sienna’s voice and saw the pain and regret in her eyes, Lana’s heart twisted with sympathy as she comforted her. “Miss Enna, you had your reasons. You didn’t even remember anything for those ten years.”
There were so many things Lana wanted to say, but she was afraid of making Sienna unhappy.
Back then. Sienna was just a girl who had just turned eighteen, forced to shoulder burdens no ordinary person could ever imagine.

Vivian nodded, knowing it was time to let Sienna rest. “You should sleep too. If you feel unwell, just call me. I’ve decided. Tomorrow, I’m going abroad with Anya. I want to improve myself. I can’t let you shoulder all the responsibilities alone. I want to help, even with small things.”
Sienna smiled softly and ruffled Vivian’s hair. “You’ve grown up, Vivian. I’ll take you to the airport tomorrow
Vivian quickly shook her head. “No, that’s not necessary. Sienna. The driver can take me. By the way, did you find her?”
“Yes, I did. Vivian, Winifred is a bit reserved, but we’re all family. If she wants to come back, make sure to get along with her,” Sienna said.
“I underwand,” Vivian replied. Even though it was hard for her, for Sienna, Vivian was willing to accept Winifred, just like she had learned to accept Amber before.
Vivian lay in bed, restless, as memories from ten years ago flooded back. Their mother had barelycheen around during their childhood. Sienna had been the one to raise then.
Their mother, a workaholic, was always focused on assigning tasks to Sienna before heading off to work. Their father, Aiden, was the one who cooked,tended the garden, and took care of them.
That night, Aiden came home exhausted, bloodshot eyes, and told them Sienna wasn’t coming back.
None of them wanted to believe it. It wasn’t until Aiden brought Linda into the house and after days of waiting that Vivian finally accepted the truth —Sienna wasn’t coming back.
Amber cried and begged for Sienna every day, and that was when Jocelyn comforted her.
