Chapter 176
Without even sparing her a glance, Winifred sat down, stretched her legs out on the desk, and started scrolling on her phone like nothing in the world could bother her.
Sylvie was furious at being ignored. There she goes again, with that wild, careless attitude. Who does Winifred think she is she fumed to herself. “What’s going on? Why are you all just standing around! Class is about to start,” Alice Green, the teacher, called out as she walked in.
As soon as Alice appeared, the students jumped at the chance to complain, all talking over each other as they loudly accused Winifred.
“M. Green, Winifred was expelled over a year ago, and now she’s somehow snuck back into school. She’s a threat to us! We want you to report this to the principal. The school security is useless if they’re letting all sorts of shady people in,” Sylvie said, her voice dripping with venom.
“Yeah, Sylvie’s right! Ms. Green, Winifred’s a murderer–she’s done all kinds of horrible things. She must be carrying something. What if she infects od anther student chimed in.
“I don’t want to get sick!” someone else shouted.
“Me nenher another student shouted,
Enough! Quiet down, all of you!” Alice snapped. “Winifred, I’m asking you–how did you get in here? You’re not a student at this school anymore. No matter what your reason is leave this classroom and the school right now
Winifred just shot them a mocking smile, not giving anyone the time of day. She kept shaking her legs and messing with her phone, totally brazen, acting like Alice’s words were just noise in the wind–or maybe she didn’t even hear them at all.
“Winifred–Han! Are you seriously ignoring me? Get our of here right now!” Alice yelled, her face flushed with anger.
She stormed over to Winifred, fuming After all the trouble it took to finally get rid of this rotten apple, now she was back stirring up chaos again. No way was she going to let that happen.
Sylvie saw all this and couldn’t help but smirk, her face full of satisfaction
Winifred lifted her gaze toward the door, her tone nonchalant and defiant. “Whether I leave or not, that’s not for any of you to decide.
just then. Adam Swift, the principal, came rushing in, sweating and gasping for breath. “Ms. Green, I need to talk to you!” he called out.
“Mr. Swift, you’re here just in time. I was about to go to you, Winifred Hart, an expelled student, actually had the audacity to break into the campus again. I’m demanding we call the police right now and let them handle this.” Alice said, her voice sharp with anger.
Adam leaned on the desk, still catching his breath.
Sylvie, trying to sound understanding, spoke up, “Mr. Swift, Ms. Green, I really don’t think Winifred meant to sneak in. She probably just misses her days as a student and wanted to look around, right, Winifred! If you just apologize to everyone, I’m sure Ms. Green won’t hold it against you.”
“How annoying!” Winifred snapped, grabbing a book and with a flick of her wrist, sent it lying straight at Sylvie’s head.
“How dare you, Winifred!” Sylvie shouted, her voice trembling with anger.
“Nobody say a word! Quiet! Listen up, all of you–listen to me!” Adam barked, his voice cutting through the chaos. The whole misunderstanding about Winifred Hart has been cleared up. Starting today, she’s officially reinstated as a student here, I expect everyone to get along. Ms. Green, come with me for a moment”
He let out a sigh of relief, thinking to himself. That was a close call–I almost screwed up big time!
This was a private academy, and when the big shareholders spoke, Adam wouldn’t dare complain. More importantly, Winifred’s family had donated five entire buildings to the school–a massive sun. The board members practically tripped over themselves to welcome her back. Adam wiped the sweat from his brow, his mind racing. Just who is backing Winifred Hart? That kind of power is absolutely terrifying”
“Mr Swift, do you even know what Winifred Hari has done before! How can you let her come back to school! Are you putting our safety first? She’s a bead student – wherever she is, there’s always trouble. How can you let someone like her return? Alice was fuming, her voice trembling with anger
Adan cleared his throat Tve already said, there were some misunderstandings before. Winifred Hart is an excellent student. With your abilities, Ms. Green, I believe you can help her become even better.”
Alice wouldn’t back down. “Mr. Swift!”
Adam’s expression turned cold. “Ms. Green, there are some things I can’t say openly, but you need to understand–if she’s able to come back, it
