Thorn rolled his eyes at Wayne. “Bullshit. Who gave you the nerve to call yourself family? If anyone here is family, it’s me and her. As for you, you’re just some random ‘Whiner‘ that popped up out of nowhere.”
Hearing the word “Whiner,” Nora couldn’t hold back a snort of laughter. “Whiner. Wayne, I think that nickname is perfect for you. It really fits your style.”
With a cold look on his face, Wayne brushed Nora aside and strode straight over to Sienna. He showed the food containers in his hands. “Sienna, you must be hungry. Come on, try these. I made them just the way you like. I guess you’ll love them.”
Wayne was dressed in a dark red shirt, and his usually elegant face was now tinged with a hint of wild allure by the color.
He opened the food containers and took out the cutlery.
“Thanks, Wayne. I couldn’t have handled Winifred’s situation without your help.” Sienna said.
Wayne replied, “Come on, Sienna, no need to be so polite with me. Let me cut that up for you.”
Thorn stormed over and shoved Wayne aside. “I brought you fruit. Got all kinds here. Take your pick.” As he spoke, Thorn started pulling out his stuff in no time.
To Sienna’s surprise, he even brought a ton of daily necessities. “Hold on, what are these?” Sienna asked.
“I thought about it, and for the sake of your health–so you can get better and leave the hospital soon–I’ve decided to stay and be your hospital roommate.” Thorn said.
Sienna and the others were left speechless.
Wayne was about to explode from Thorn’s shamelessness. “Thorn, are you out of your damn mind? Who said you could stay here with Sienna? The farther you get, the better–just get lost!”
Thorn shot back without missing a beat. “Wayne, why can’t I stay? What’s it to you if I do? If anyone needs to leave, it’s you.”
You-” Wayne was so furious he couldn’t even get the words out.
Wayne and Thorn started bickering, trading insults one after another, while Nora just stared in shock. She’d never seen Wayne go off on someone like this before.
Sienna kept her cool and quietly ate her food, while Vivian and Amber headed across the hall to check in on Winifred.
When Amber saw Winifred lying there, covered in tubes with only the steady beeping of the machines, her eyes turned red with tears. She pressed her hands against the glass and whispered so softly that only she could hear, “Winifred, you better not die. I don’t blame you anymore. As long as you wake up, I promise I won’t badmouth you behind your back ever again.”
The moment Amber heard about the accident, a deep fear took root in her heart. The whole way here, her mind kept running wild–if Winifred never woke up, she’d be heartbroken, guilty, and really sad.
But Amber thought she really did dislike Winifred–she was unreasonable, always thought she was right, and constantly bullied Winifred. Amber couldn’t understand why she was afraid.
Vivian patted Amber on the shoulder, comforting her, “Come on, Winifred’ll be fine. She’ll wake up in a few days.”
Amber stubbornly said, “I don’t care when she wakes up.”
With that, Amber turned and walked away, still remembering how Vivian had plotted against her just yesterday.
Vivian shook her head with a sigh. With Sienna injured, all the company affairs had fallen to her. But Vivian was no longer the person she used to be–now, she was fully capable of holding up Hart Corporation on her own.
“Sienna, just rest up and leave everything to me.” Vivian said.
As Vivian was leaving the hospital, she bumped into Nathan. The moment he spotted her, he called out, “Vivian, what brings you to the hospital? Did you get hurt or something?”
“Nope. What about you? Why are you here?” Vivian asked, noticing how lively and full of energy Nathan looked–definitely not like
someone who was sick.
