“You just wanted to see me get hurt. You wanted to ruin me.”
shrugged.
“You put the drugs in yourself. You brought this on yourself. Who can you blame?”
Lily was so angry her chest heaved violently.
It’s not like she particularly liked Zack either.
It was just because…
She touched her belly. She needed to find a father for the child inside her.
And Zack the bootlicker had good family background as the son of officials, plus he was devoted to her.
Someone like that was perfect to take responsibility.
She just never expected things to blow up so big.
Now that it had reached an unsalvageable point, someone had to take all the blame.
“I won’t let you off, Natalie.”
“What are you going to do?”
Others might avoid crossing Lily because she was the principal’s daughter, but I wasn’t afraid.
My parents were also prominent local figures, running a company with 5,000 employees.
Penny was afraid the conflict would turn on her, so she quickly distanced herself.
“Lily, don’t let her off. She did all this because of Zack, deliberately targeting you.”
Penny was just a poor scholarship student.
If Lily turned on her instead, she would be finished.
But Penny was thinking too simply.
She thought as long as she dumped all the dirt on me, she could get away clean.
But how could that be possible?
Lily turned to look at Penny.
“Class monitor, how do you think we should handle this?”
“We can say Natalie was the one who put the drugs in, just like we originally planned.”
Penny spoke eagerly.
But Lily shook her head.
www
“That won’t work. The police can trace that you, Penny, were the one who bought the drugs.”
Hearing this, Penny’s face turned deathly pale.
She stared at Lily in a daze:
“Lily, that’s not what you said last night. You said you would protect me…”
A
“Protect you?” Lily laughed coldly. “I remember your parents are farmers, and your grandmother is in the hospital.”
The more Lily spoke, the worse Penny’s expression became.
