Violet’s POV
One Week Later.
My alarm clock woke me from my dream. It was the same dream I had every night since meeting Ryan. We have sex, and then he bites my neck and calls me his. Then, I would wake up after he bit into my neck.
I didn’t understand why I kept having that dream. I wished I could talk to someone about it, but Emily was my only friend and his brother. Jane and I talked sometimes, but we only hung out at school, and even if we did, it would be awkward telling her about my dream because she was his ex.
I felt bad for her for the way Ryan treated her when they were together. She told me how he would cheat on her, apologize, and tell her how much she meant to him. Jane would forgive him every time just for him to do it all over again. She said she was still in love with him and was going to show him they were meant to be together.
I didn’t know how to take what she told me. Ryan was friendly to Sofia and me and checked on us a few times to make sure we were okay. He had sent me roses every morning with a message saying sorry, and he would prove he was the right man for me. It made my heart melt every morning.
After getting Sofia and I ready for our day, we went into the kitchen to see Emily eating cereal

“Good morning,” I said as I placed Sofia in a chair and went to get her some cereal.

We left the house after finishing our cereal and took Sofia to daycare. After that, we headed to school.
“Hey, V,” Jane said as she sat next to me in class.
“Hey,” I replied. The teacher came in and told us we were going to work on our project since it was due the next day. We were already done with ours, so we sat around talking.

“I wanted to tell you I am having a party at my parent’s cabin in the woods on Friday. Would you like to come,” Violet said
“I am not really the party type. Plus, I have Sof to look after,” I replied
“Oh, come on. You barely go out, and I am sure you can get someone to watch Sof. Maybe Emily could watch her for you,” Jane said, looking at Emily.
“If my Best friend went to your party, I would also be going, but we aren’t interested,” Emily said
“If you say so,” Jane said and looked at me. “You really should come. It will be fun.”
After class, Emily and I picked up Sof and went to get something to eat from Mc Donalds. “I can’t believe she would invite us to her party. I am telling you, Jane is up to something,” Emily said as we ate.
“I am sure she is only trying to be nice,” I replied

“I almost forgot to tell you. Mom asked if we wanted to go shopping with her this weeke…” Emily said as we walked up to the house to see the front door halfway open.
“I could have sworn you closed the door and locked it before we left,” I said.
“I did,” She replied. Then, suddenly I heard something that sounded like a growl coming from inside the house.

“No, just get in the car,” She said when I tried to put Sofía in her car seat. I quickly hopped in the passenger seat with Sofia sitting on my lap. Once we made it to the car, Emily quickly started the engine. Before she could drive away, I saw a giant black wolf coming out of the house and running towards the car. She pushed on the gas and took off.
“Go faster, Em. The wolf is getting closer,‘ I said
“I am trying,” Emily said as she drove. The car jerked forward when the wolf hit it, causing me to scream. After everything that happened, Sofia woke up and began crying.
“Shh, it’s okay, baby,” I soothed, trying to calm her down. The wolf was about to hit the car again, but Emily switched lanes, causing the wolf to miss and hit another car. I hoped the person was alright that was in the other car.
Before the wolf could get close to our car again, another wolf started running towards us that was black with white fur by the eyes and ears. I screamed, thinking it was going to hit our car, but it jumped over it and attacked the wolf that had been following us.
“Everything is okay, V,” Emily said
I held onto Sofia, wondering why the fuck a wolf would be chasing us and why did it seem like the other one had come to help us?
