Violet’s POV
“Yeah, I will go with him tomorrow.”
“It’s about time. I will help you get ready for your date tomorrow,” Emily said
“We are just going to the movies, and we are going as friends,” I said
“Sure you are. Well, I am tired, so I am going to go to my room. I came in here to tell you we are skipping school tomorrow after what happened today. Mom and dad think it is good for us to stay here until they find the wolf. Dad’s going to call the Dean and tell him we need to do our work online for a while. You can borrow one of my outfits tomorrow,” Emily
said
“Okay, staying here until they find the wolf makes sense. I still don’t understand why a wolf was in our house or why it was so big,” I said. I knew Lee was good friends with the Dean, and he would agree to let us work online.
“Dad and Ryan will figure everything out. You don’t have to worry about anything. I will see you in the morning. Good night,
Emily said
“Good night,” I replied, and Emily closed the door as she left the room. I went to bed and lay next to Sof. I couldn’t fall asleep because I could only think about the wolf that chased

us out of the house. I also couldn’t stop thinking about the other big wolf that jumped over the car and attacked the other one that was chasing us. It seemed he was trying to protect us.
I started thinking about Ryan and me going to the movies and wondered if it was safe. If it wasn’t safe for Emly and me to go to school, then how could it be safe for me to go to the movies with Ryan?
I looked at Sof sleeping peacefully and was thankful we had. made it away from the wolf. I didn’t know what I would do if anything happened to her. I knew I would protect her from anything, which is one reason I agreed to stay with Emily’s parents.
I looked at the clock and saw it was two in the morning. I knew Sof would wake up around eight or nine in the morning, so I closed my eyes to try and get some sleep.

“Sof, please stop jumping,” I said as I woke from my sleep, but Sof was jumping and laughing on the big bed. I looked at the clock on the nightstand to see it was nine in the morning.
“Wake up,” Sof said in her cute voice.
“Okay, I am up,” I said and began tickling her.
“Stop it,” Sof said, giggling and moving around like crazy. Then, there was a knock on the door. “Come in,” I said, and Emily walked into the room.
“What is going on here?” Emily said, walking over to Sof and

“Sof woke me up by jumping on the bed, so I am getting back at her by tickling her,” I said and tickled Sof again, causing her to laugh hysterically. Finally, I stopped so she could calm down and smiled at my little sister. I was happy I got her out of our father’s house. Since leaving him, we had never been as calm, happy, and relaxed as we were. I wish I would have had the chance to leave sooner.
Another knock was heard on the door, and Emily went to open it.
“Oh, hi, big brother,” Emily said. I looked to see Ryan standing by the door, looking at me.
“Hey, sis. Hey, Violet, can I come in?” Ryan asked
“Sure,” I replied, and he walked into the room.
“Hey, Sofia. I heard you laughing a while ago. Something must have been really funny,” Ryan said, smiling at Sofia.
“Vilet, tickle me,” Sof said
“She did? That is why you were laughing so hard?” He asked, and she nodded.
“Sorry if we woke you up,” I said
“You don’t have to be sorry. Even if I weren’t already awoken, I wouldn’t have minded hearing such a sweet laugh in the morning. I was already up because I had a meeting I had to get to with dad. I was thinking about stopping by earlier but wasn’t sure you were awake yet. When I heard Sofia laugh, I knew you were. I was wondering if you have decided to watch a movie with me tonight?” Ryan asked

“Is it safe to be outside with a wolf out loose? I know it isn’t safe for Emily and me to go to school,” I asked.
“Yes, you will be safe going out with me. I would never let anything happen to you, Violet. You will always be safe with me.” I could hear the promise in his voice as he gazed into my eyes as he told me that. Somehow I knew I could believe him, and he would protect me from anything.
“Then, yes, I will go to a movie with you,” I replied, and the biggest smile came on his face.
“Thank you, Violet. I promise you won’t; regret going on a date with me. Now I have to go before my dad comes up here looking for me. I will see you tonight,” Ryan said
“Okay, see you tonight,” I replied, and Ryan walked out of the
room.
“I am going to help you get ready. I have the perfect dress for you to wear. I will be right back,” Emily said and ran out of the
room.
I was thinking about Ryan and me going out tonight and felt nervous at his words. Did he just say date?
Emily walked back into the room with a light blue sundress and heels. “What is wrong?” She asked
“I have never been on a date before.”
