Following her pointed finger, Andy spotted a man dressed in a blue jacket and sporting a pair of diamond earrings. The latter’s eyes and brows exuded an undeniable air of pride.
Feeling skeptical, Andy clarified, “Are you sure about choosing him?”
Madelyn nodded. “Yes, he is the one.”
Following that, Madelyn went straight up to Josiah, grinning as she explained the situation to him.
“You want me to join you in the race?” Josiah asked, somewhat taken aback.
He was clearly just bored and came over to have some fun, not expecting that he would be chosen.
In the end, Madelyn nodded as if it were only natural. “That’s right.”
Josiah smacked his lips. Fine. I was bored anyway.
Adding to his inherent rebellious nature and love for thrill, he’d rather hang out there than be at home, where he was constantly nagged by his father to join the military.
However, it wouldn’t look good on me if I were to readily agree.
With that, Josiah arrogantly lifted his chin, curling his lips into a smirk. “What do you take me for? Let me tell you, hiring me is quite expensive. Can you afford it?”
Upon hearing the words, Madelyn chuckled to herself. Just as I expected. Given his rebellious nature, he certainly wouldn’t agree right away.
Nevertheless, she had a way to get him onboard.
Sure enough, Madelyn smiled generously and said, “If we win, you can have the million. I won’t take a dime. How does that sound?”

Upon hearing these words, Josiah’s eyes lit up. This is too good to be true!
Unable to suppress his skepticism, he asked, “Really?”
Madelyn replied with a laugh, “Of course.”
“Fine, it’s settled then! You’d better not break your word,” Josiah agreed instantly, beaming proudly.
Observing his expression, Madelyn inexplicably felt a surge of confidence. Even though the race hadn’t started yet, she could already feel that victory was within her grasp.
Meanwhile, Christopher was watching the two, his complexion unknowingly turning ashen.
Madelyn obviously saw it, but she sniggered to herself, pretending as if she hadn’t.

Upon hearing this, both Madelyn and Josiah were unfazed. No matter who their opponents were, they were certain of their victory.
Meanwhile, Andy was quite pleased with himself. What do these two kids know about driving? They might as well just hand over the five million!
Following that, Andy announced, “Alright, you two can choose your car now. Any car here is available. Just pick whichever you fancy.”
Madelyn, however, flatly refused, “No, in the interest of fairness, we won’t use your car.”
If they had tampered with the car, wouldn’t defeat be inevitable?
After she finished speaking, she turned to Josiah and asked, “Did you bring your car? Let’s use yours.”
“How did you know I have a car?” Josiah couldn’t help but express his surprise.
“Isn’t it obvious? Doesn’t everyone who comes here have a car?” Madelyn said with a laugh.
Josiah saw that she had a point, so he nonchalantly nodded, saying, “Okay.”
Following that, he headed toward the driver’s seat of his car.
“Wait!” Madelyn suddenly grabbed hold of him again.
Josiah couldn’t help but furrow his brows, turning to ask, “What else do
you
want?”
The smiling Madelyn replied, “You take the passenger seat. I’ll drive!”
“What?” Josiah was dumbfounded.
Suddenly feeling as if he had been played, he snapped, “Hey! You little brat, if you don’t want to give me a million, you could’ve just said so. There’s no need for this.”
Madelyn, however, found it amusing. “Do you really think so little of me?”
Nodding, Josiah didn’t bother to hide his feelings. “Yes, I do look down on you. There aren’t many women in the world who can race, and look at you, so delicate and tender. How can you handle the car? If I had known earlier that you’d be driving I would have definitely refused to be vour nartner!”

But still, he couldn’t help but warn, “Listen carefully, you d*mn girl, if we lose and I end up losing a million, I swear I’ll kill you!”
