After saying that, he stepped forward and grasped Madelyn’s hand, pulling her toward him and shielding her behind him.
Madelyn grumbled as he positioned himself in front of her. “What are you doing? It’s not like I’m so ugly that you have to hide me from others‘ sight.”
As she spoke, she wanted to walk away from him, but he grabbed her and chided, “Madelyn, do you have any idea where you are?”
Madelyn said nonchalantly, “I do. It’s a shooting range.”
“Then what are you doing here? Are you looking for trouble? Even if you don’t care about your own life, don’t make things difficult for me.” Josiah wore a menacing expression.
Despite his ferocious attitude, he was clearly concerned about her.
Instead of getting annoyed by his harsh tone, Madelyn felt touched.
At that moment, the bald man was completely captivated by Madelyn’s beauty. His eyes were filled with fascination.
A wicked thought suddenly sprang into his mind, and he smirked lecherously. “Well, well, you’re such a beauty! Did you come here to keep us company?”

The punch was delivered with full force, landing on the bald man’s face. Blood trickled from the corner of his lips.

Without hesitation, the group of ruffians immediately took action, swinging their fists at Josiah.
Josiah staggered backward, blood seeping from the corners of his mouth.
Tristan and his gang hit the roof upon seeing that. “How dare you mess with my buddy! Charge!”
Both parties officially began their confrontation.
The scene instantly erupted into chaos, with roars and wails of pain piercing the air incessantly.
Everyone gave their all, wishing nothing more than to defeat their opponent.
However, the bald man’s gang were from the underworld after all, accustomed to brawling. Plus, they were muscular and much stronger than Tristan and his gang.
Before long, Tristan and his gang gradually found themselves at a disadvantage, struggling to fight back.
At that moment, Josiah protected Madelyn amidst the chaos of the battle. He angrily snapped, “Are you out of your mind? What on earth are you doing here? You should’ve kept your distance in situations like this! Why did you join the fray? Do you have a death wish?”
His worry was evident.
Madelyn, however, simply chuckled, utterly unfazed as she said, “Why should I stay away? I’m not afraid of them.”
Upon hearing this, Josiah was at a loss for words.
This woman is insane! But come to think of it, since she dares to engage in street racing, she certainly isn’t one to be afraid of such a situation. However, the main issue is that we’re losing. If anything were to happen to her, I’ll never forgive myself.
With that in mind, Josiah immediately grabbed her hand and dragged her along. “Come with me.”
Suddenly, a piercing scream erupted from within the crowd.

Everyone’s heart jolted in surprise.
Turning around, they noticed the bald man’s hand had been broken by Maxton, who wore a stoic expression. He grimaced in pain, begging and sobbing, “I’m sorry! Please spare me!”

After a brief pause, she added, “But, thank you for your help.”
Maxton sneered. “It’s no big deal.”
Madelyn’s smile widened.
Then, she turned her attention to Josiah, Tristan, and the others, expressing her concern, “By the way, are you guys okay?”
Tristan and the others were fine, while Josiah nodded, too. “I’m okay.”
We just feel… a bit embarrassed, that’s all.
At that moment, Jillian strode in, accompanied by a few security guards of the shooting range.
Pointing at the people on the ground, Jillian said, “Security, these are the ones who claimed their territory and started the fight. Please escort them to the police station.”
The security guard nodded without uttering another word and brought them away.
Everything had finally settled down.
At that moment, Madelyn suddenly said with a chuckle. “Hey, it’s quite a coincidence that we all met today. How about we all go for a meal together? My treat.”
Jillian nodded in agreement, and nobody had any objections.
Josiah, however, turned away and said proudly, “Hmph. Why should I have a meal with you? I’ll pass. It’s not like we’re close.”
“What?” Madelyn was infuriated upon hearing that and reached out to pinch his ear. “We’ve been through thick and thin together! How dare you say we’re not close? Are you asking for trouble? Are you coming or not? If not, I’ll get those guys to beat you up! We won’t intervene this time and will watch you get beaten into a pulp!”
Josiah fumed. “Let go! I said I’m not going!”
“You’re really not going, huh? Fine. Jillian, get those thugs to come back!” Madelyn said impatiently.
“No, no, wait!” Thankfully, Tristan was quick–witted and instantly interjected, “We’ll go!”
