Once she realized it was Madelyn, she was caught between laughter and despair, exclaiming, “Madelyn, you’re finally back!”
“Haha, my beauty, did you miss me?” Madelyn said, her laughter filled with playful mischief.
“Of course I’ve missed you,” Jillian affirmed with a vigorous nod.
Madelyn’s smile grew even brighter. “Since you’ve been thinking of me so much, let me give you a gift.”
Then, under Jillian’s watchful gaze, Madelyn brought out a small, square wooden box.
“What is this?” Jillian asked curiously.
With a mischievous grin, Madelyn coaxed, “Why don’t you open it and see for yourself?”
Jillian nodded, then proceeded to open the box. Inside, she discovered a bracelet, shimmering with a brilliant silver glow.
“Wow, it’s so beautiful!” For the first time, Jillian laid her eyes on such a dazzling bracelet, and she was immediately awestruck.
Madelyn chuckled. “This is something I specifically picked out for you in Rodunst. So, do you like it?”
“Like it? Of course, I like it! Madelyn, you’re really the best.” Jillian was overjoyed, then she immediately took off the bracelet and wore it on her wrist. The bracelet complemented her fair skin, making it look very attractive. This made Jillian even happier.
However, immediately after, Jillian suddenly regained her composure. With a mysterious air, she said, “Madelyn, let me tell you something. While you were away, our school welcomed two new transfer students. Can you guess who they are?”
