Septimus replied, “I apologize for any offense earlier. hope you can find it in your heart to forgive me. As a gesture of sincerity, please accept this card. It grants you unrestricted access within our circles, and if you ever face trouble in the black market, present it–no one will dare cross you. Our bodyguards will undoubtedly come to your aid.”
Madelyn was flattered.

“There’s nothing not okay about it.” Madelyn shrugged indifferently. “Besides, based on my observations. these past couple of days, Mr. Septimus seems to be a decent person to associate with. If he tries any tricks, I can handle it. So, don’t worry.”
Madelyn casually patted Josiah’s shoulder. “All right, it’s getting late. You should head back and rest. I’ll be on my way.”

Madelyn was utterly exhausted today, her body aching all over. The moment she arrived at the Thornton residence, the first thing she wanted to do was take a hot bath and hit the sack early.
