After Madelyn finished speaking, she turned to look at Janessa with a smile. She appeared utterly carefree and untroubled
Seeing her laugh so freely, Janessa felt somewhat uncomfortable:

Upon hearing these words, the expression on Janessa’s face shifted subtly, reflecting her discomfort. However, she could only respond with a forced laugh. “Yes, indeed”
Then, Janessa quickly changed the subject. “By the way, Madelyn, are you confident about this thesis writing task? Do you need my help? I still have some leftover materials from the last time I wrote a thesis”.

And so, with a gentle laugh, she declined. “There’s no need, Janessa. I’ll do my best on my own. Besides, I want to prove my innocence with my own strength.”
“But… Janessa wanted to say something else.
Madelyn, however, interrupted, “That’s enough, Janessa. I need to review now, Thank you for your kindness, but I can manage. Don’t worry about me.”
Since she had already made it clear, there wasn’t much left for Janessa to say. All she could do was nod in agreement. “All right then, you focus on your revision. I won’t disturb you any further.”
With that, Janessa left the classroom.
At that moment, Felicity was standing at the classroom door. Seeing Janessa emerge, she quickly approached and asked, “What did she say?
Feeling helpless, Janessa replied, “She insists she can manage on her own anil refuse my assistance”
“What?” Felicity asked with concern, “Is Madelyn really that confident?”
Janessa shrugged. “How would I know if she’s confident or not?”
“What if she really does manage to write it?” Felicity asked persistently.
Upon hearing these words, Janessa merely chuckled, a hint of ruthlessness flashing in her eyes. “Even if she manages to write it, so what? I still have other ways to deal with her.”
Upon hearing those words, Felicity too, responded with a sly smile.
In the afternoon, while Madelyn was engrossed in her revision, she was summoned by Ruth.
Inside the office, Ruth said to Madelyn solemnly. “Madelyn, for this paper, Professor Fuller and I will be supervising you until you finish. There will be absolutely no chance for you to cheat. So, are you sure you can handle it?”
Upon hearing that, Madelyn pondered for a moment before responding firmly, “Yes.”
Ruth was somewhat irritated when she saw her being so confident.
Unable to resist a sarcastic remark, she said, “I hope you won’t disappoint me. Come to the multi–function room in the afternoon. I’m giving you the whole afternoon. If you can’t deliver, you’ll have to face the consequences!”

Madelyn acknowledged. After picking up her pen and paper, she headed off to the multi–function room
By the time she arrived at the multi–function room. Yadiel and Ruth were already there.
Yadiel was dressed casually that day, all in white. He exuded a sense of calm and gentleness.

Madelyn felt a comforting warmth. Nodding, she assured, “Don’t worry, Yadiel. I’ll do my best.”
This scene fell into Ruth’s eyes, and she was absolutely furious. Immediately, she scolded. “Madelyn, time’s up! Start writing your thesis immediately!”
Madelyn had no choice but to enter the multi–function room.
And so, Madelyn spent the entire afternoon in that secluded classroom and diligently worked on her thesis.
During the process. Yadiel would occasionally gaze at her. Seeing her focused, he couldn’t help but smile in reassurance.
Upon witnessing the scene, Ruth felt a pang of annoyance. She deliberately cleared her throat and said, “Madelyn, pay

Madelyn rolled her eyes in exasperation, silently questioning when she had ever been anything but serious.
It was evening.
The day was almost over. Ruth kept a close eye on the time. As soon as the bell rang, she promptly collected Madelyn’s essay.
Madelyn was in the midst of reviewing her thesis when it was whisked away by Ruth swiftly.
Madelyn was helpless, but deep down, she didn’t really care.
She had put a lot of effort into writing this thesis, repeatedly pondering over it during the process. After thinking it over, she decided there shouldn’t be any major issues, so she heaved a sigh of relief.
Ruth glanced at her with a hint of disdain upon seeing her nonchalant demeanor. “Don’t get ahead of yourself. With your mediocre skills, what good can you possibly produce?”
Tucking the thesis under her arm. Ruth said. “By tomorrow, I’ll have your thesis grade posted on the announcement board for everyone to see. I hope you won’t disappoint.”
Madelyn shrugged indifferently, thinking to herself that she had done her best and completed the thesis.
At that moment, Yadiel stepped forward and asked softly. “You finally finished writing. How do you feel!”
Madelyn gave a knowing smile and replied truthfully. “I feel… okay. Anyway, I did my best. As for the rest, I’ll leave it up to
fate.
“Good, that’s the right way to think.” Yadiel said, nodding in relief. “You’ve really worked hard, sitting all afternoon without
much movement.”“
Madelyn shook her head, indicating that it was no big deal. “I’m not tired at all. Time flies when I’m focused on my writing. It must be you who’s bored, waiting outside for me all this time.”
Yadiel smiled as he changed the subject. “Since we’re both working so hard, how about we have dinner together tonight? I’ve recently found a place that has pretty good food.”
However, Madelyn wasn’t in the mood, so she reluctantly shook her head and declined politely. “I can’t, Yadiel. I have something to attend to this evening. I’m sorry.”
Yadiel had no choice but to let her go. “All right then, you go ahead. We’ll eat together the next time.”
Having said their niece, the two waved goodbye. Then Vadiel watched as Madelyn gradually disanneared into the distance.

Yadiel furrowed his brows in discomfort. Suddenly, an idea struck him. He said, “Oh, I almost forgot. I have some unfinished business to attend to this evening, so I won’t be able to accompany you for dinner, Professor Pierson. I hope you have a pleasant meal”
Having said that, Yadiel hurriedly left.
Ruth was left standing there. Watching his retreating figure, she seethed with anger.
