It felt as if one was submerged in the depths of the ocean with dark water filling one’s chest, leaving not room for breath.
“What happened?” Harriet could only ask.
Sebastian then showed her the surveillance footage..
Harriet was shocked. “Madelyn’s been kidnapped?”
The man responded with a slight nod, not having the time to explain further to her. “Ms. Moore, I need you to mobilize every member of your Shadow Unit. You are to find out Madelyn’s whereabouts within half an hour, or the squad will be disbanded.”
Startled. Harriet immediately agreed. “Yes, Sir.”
Yet, she was filled with unease and confusion in her heart.
That was because in normal circumstances, her Shadow Unit seldom saw action. Only matters of utmost importance would prompt Sebastian to specifically deploy the private team.
However, the fact that he threatened to disband the unit showed how truly desperate he was this time.
And the person who had caused him such urgency was none other than Madelyn.
Harriet felt undeniably dejected.
Still, not daring to waste any more time, she hurriedly called one of her subordinates from the Shadow Unit.
It didn’t take long for the vice leader, Ethan, to answer the phone. “Hello, Harriet. How can I help?”
“Ethan, the Mrs. Lockhart has been kidnapped. Mr. Lockhart has issued an order to locate her within half an hour, or we’ll face severe consequences.”
“Mrs. Lockhart?” Ethan couldn’t believe his ears.
The individuals within the Shadow Unit were all elites, each one of them highly skilled in the realm of computers and other advanced technologies.
Given the capabilities of the team, it certainly wouldn’t be a challenge to locate Madelyn in half an hour.
But to that the boss is actually mobilizing the entire Shadow Unit just to find a Mrs. Lockhart–isn’t this making a mountain out of a molehill?
Even so, Ethan dared not take this matter lightly.

Later on, Harriet visited him at the hospital out of courtesy and to check on his condition.
It was during that time Ethan expressed his wishes to follow Harriet from then on.
Harriet saw this man as a promising talent; he was loyal and even willing to risk his life for her. Thus, she agreed to take him with her and subsequently arranged for him to join the Shadow Unit.
By now, he was considered her most trusted subordinate.
Coming back to his senses, how could he not know what was on Harriet’s mind right now?
He had always known deep down that Harriet only had eyes for Sebastian.
Even so, Ethan held no resentment, for in his eyes, Harriet was such an exalted figure that perhaps only at man of Sebastian’s caliber would be worthy of her.
However, what was saddening to see was the clearly unrequited love.
Anyone with discernment could see that Sebastian didn’t harbor any feelings for Harriet. He merely regarded her as his best business partner.
All that aside, he now wanted the woman who loved him the most to help him find the woman he loved
the most.
How could Harriet be content with this?
She certainly felt hurt, and so did Ethan.
The latter’s entire gaze was now shrouded in darkness.
“We’ve found her, Mr. Cooper!” a subordinate exclaimed suddenly.
They had successfully located Madelyn by tracking her phone, even managing to pinpoint the exact location of the abandoned warehouse.
Should we report this to them now, Sir?” another subordinate asked.

With that in mind. Ethan replied, “There’s no need to sh. Keep checking just to avoid any mistakes.”
“Yes, Sir.” The subordinate had no choice but to continge the investigation.
Meanwhile, the atmosphere back at the Elite Club was ppressively terrifying.
A full twenty–three minutes had already passed, but there was still no response from the Shadow Unit. Sebastian was no longer able to hold back his frustration.
“From what I know, the Shadow Unit is never this incllicient. How do you explain this, Ms. Moore?” He looked straight at Harriet.
Harriet felt her stomach drop as her face drained of color.
“I’m sorry. I’ll check with them right now!”
She stepped aside to make another call.
Wesley couldn’t bear to see how frantic Sebastian looked.
Recalling that Madelyn’s kidnapping was somewhat connected to him filled him with guilt.

Before he could finish, Sebastian cut him off. “Enough with the nonsense. We’ll settle our scores once we find her.
Left with no other choice, Wesley could only nod. “Okay.”
He then turned to his subordinates standing nearby. “You two, go and gather more people for me, Get the cars ready too. We’ll need them soon.”
The two subordinates immediately nodded and proceeded as instructed.
Following that was another period of patient waiting.
After ending her call, Harriet returned with an even paler complexion. “They said they still haven’t found
her.”
The air seemed to freeze.
Sebastian’s fury seemed to have reached its boiling point, but he still managed to suppress it.
Petrified, Harriet quickly added, “I’ll keep rushing them”
Then, she moved aside, still clutching her phone.
Just then, Malcolm hurried over. “Sir, the police have located Mrs. factory in the suburbs. We can set off now!”
