At present, the woman was drenched from head to toe and she shivered uncontrollably in her seat.

Beneath the clothing concealing her body was countless whip marks.
It was clear Hayden had just subjected her to all sorts of torment.

She was in so much pain.
Still, she continued to sneer. “You think you’re all that, huh?” she mocked, despite how ashen her lips were. “Let me tell you this, Hayden. If you had the guts, you would’ve confronted me openly instead of resorting to such underhanded tricks like kidnapping me. Your cowardice is so embarrassing that I can’t help but look down on you!”
“Oh? Still playing tough, aren’t you?” Instead of getting riled up, Hayden merely laughed.
“I’ve never claimed to be a gentleman,” he commented, “but don’t fool yourself into thinking you’re perfect either.”
He continued, “You dare claim that you didn’t cheat when you fired those shots at my old man’s birthday party? Like I’d believe you! What right do a bunch of cheaters like you have to humiliate me like that? I’m a highly esteemed major, for f*ck’s sake!”
Every time he spoke of the humiliation he suffered that day, he found himself consumed by
uncontrollable anger.
He always told himself that becoming a major at such a young age should have been a matter of pride for the entire Blume family.
Yet, that very day, he was unexpectedly outdone by Josiah–a man universally acknowledged as useless. trash. This was a pill too bitter for him to swallow, no matter what.
Upon hearing his words, Madelyn couldn’t help but laugh in disbelief. “Are you out of your mind? You’re not as skilled, but you just don’t want to admit it. You really are the most shameless person I’ve ever met. Everyone saw what happened that day. We didn’t tamper with anything. You asked to switch guns because you were worried about us cheating, and Josiah agreed without a second though. So, how could we have chicated?”
She added, “Also, it’s one thing to be a sore loser as a so–called highly esteemed major, but to stoop so low as to kidnap someone! You really are despicable. I feel ashamed on behalf of Old Mr. Blume.”

“Yes, Sir.” With a hod, the subordinate began walking over with a knife.
The sharp blade exuded an intense chill that sent shivers down one’s spine at a mere glance.
Madelyn couldn’t help but break out in a cold sweat..
The torture she had just experienced was painful enough, and now, the fear in her heart reached its peak.
The woman silently vowed that if her hands were to be rendered useless, she would undoubtedly make Hayden pay twice the price.
Two henchmen now stood before her.
One grasped onto Madelyn’s hand, while another raised his machete.
Hayden watched the scene with great interest, feeling as though he could finally have his vengeance.
He was on cloud nine now.
Startled, Madelyn let out a soft gasp and shut her eyes tightly.
“Argh!”
Suddenly, a piercing scream echoed through the air.
Madelyn trembled with fear. “Don’t cut me, don’t cut me, don’t cut me…” she pleaded repeatedly.
“Arghh!” Another cry rang out.

The woman quickly realized felt something was off. It wasn’t her who had screamed, nor did she feel any pain on her hands. What was going on?
At this thought, she immediately opened her eyes.
The two guards at the entrance were now on the ground, their limbs twisted severely. Following that, a group of men clad in matching black uniforms and masks stormed in with an air of urgency and authority.

At once, all the subordinates sprang into action, their momentum exceptionally formidable.
Hayden showed no fear either and managed to pull himself together. “Get them!” he roared.
His men charged forward aggressively.
And so, the two sides began to battle.
Hayden watched from the sidelines, unable to suppress his self–satisfaction.
I handpicked all my men from the military, each one skilled in their own right. Anyone who tries to pick a fight with me has a death wish!
Yet, it wasn’t long until his expression took a turn.
All of his henchmen had been taken down within mere minutes!
Then, a man rushed forward, dragging Hayden along with and forcing him to kneel before the man who appeared to be the leader. “Boss, this guy must be the head of this group.”
The masked man looked down with disdain and let outh scoff. “You had the gall to kidnap someone with such mediocre abilities?”
Hayden was immediately enraged. “Who the hell are you?”
Feeling puzzled, Madelyn wondering who this man was and why he sounded so familiar.
Suddenly, the unknown man let out a cold chuckle before promptly removing his mask.
Madelyn’s eyes widened in an instant, her face filled with disbelief.
The man possessed a devilishly handsome face. Who else could it be, if not the one and only Phantom?
“We’ve only been apart for a little while, Madelyn. Do you really have to look at me with such lovesick eyes?”
Upon noticing the woman’s expression, Phantom couldn’t help but laugh.
Madelyn was taken aback. “W–What are you doing here”
“Of course I came to rescue you. Can’t you tell?”
Phantom spoke with a grin so captivating it could beguile the masses.
He then stopped paying attention to her, instead signaling the subordinate next to him to untie her.
