“Or is it because something is going on between you two?” Sebastian pressed, fixing Madelyn with a probing gaze as though trying to discern something in the depths of her eyes.

When he saw her look increasingly flustered, his expression darkened even further, and there was even an icy edge to his gaze. “That’s enough. If you can’t answer me, then don’t bother. It’s just as well. I’m not interested in knowing anyway.”
With that, he placed the phone back in her hand, turned on his heel, and returned to the dining table to continue eating.
Nonetheless, he could not hide his displeasure.
“Sebastian… Madelyn slowly walked over to him. Tugging at his sleeve, she uttered in a placating tone, “I was wrong. Please don’t be upset.”
He continued eating in silence, ignoring her.
She bit her lip. Then, in a soft, coaxing voice, she said, “Sebastian… Please don’t be mad, okay? I… Why don’t I give you a shoulder massage?”
Immediately after saying that, she moved behind him, placed her hands on his shoulders, and began massaging them. “You work so hard every day, so let me help you relax. Don’t be angry anymore, okay?”
However, her plan was clearly ineffective.
Sebastian frowned impatiently, then promptly removed her hands. “No need for that.”
He was so cold toward her that she could not help feeling somewhat hurt.
Overwhelmed by emotion, Madelyn found herself at a loss for words. All she could do was go and sit opposite him, looking frustrated.
However, as she gazed at the table laden with food and then at his sullen expression, she could not bring
herself to eat.
In the end, she set down her fork and said, “I’m full.”
Her frail figure stood up, and she went upstairs gloomily.
His expression darkened as he watched her walk off. Then, he let out a soft sigh. Why doesn’t she get it? I’m not bothered by the fact that she’s keeping secrets from me. What truly worries me is the fear that whatever she’s hiding could potentially endanger her life! There’s nothing in this world that can stir up my emotions, except for her. Whenever she laughs, it makes me happy. Conversely, whenever she looks troubled, I feel uneasy too.
Sebastian soon found that he had lost his appetite. Henge, he got up and retreated to his study alone to do

His heart lurched, and he quickly pushed the door open and walked in.
Sure enough, he saw Madelyn lying on the bed, her body contorted. She appeared to be in so much pain that her face was flushed red, looking as though she was on the verge of breathing her last.
Worry surged over him, and he quickly stepped forward to hold her. “What’s wrong? Are you feeling unwell:”
“1“It was evident that she was in such pain that she could not speak anymore. She clutched at her stomach with an expression of extreme agony.
He immediately asked, “Do you have gastritis?”
She was unable to form a response and could only manage to nod with much difficulty.
Madelyn had always suffered from a certain degree of gastritis, and since she had barely touched her dinner earlier, it had triggered her condition.
Seeing that, Sebastian rushed downstairs almost instantly. When he bumped into Lydia, he said, “Quick. find some gastric medicine!”
“Got it!”
Lydia had an inkling of what was going on, so she immediately went to fetch some medicine. Meanwhile. Sebastian grabbed a glass of water. Then, both of them hurried upstairs.
Once they reached the room, he hastily tried to feed Madelyn the medicine. However, no matter what he did, she simply would not open her mouth.
Observing that Madelyn was refusing to take the medicine, Lydia started panicking. “Mr. Lockhart, she’s not taking the medicine. What should we do?”
His expression grew solemn. How could I not see that for myself? Clearly, this stubborn girl is refusing to take the medicine because she’s sulking over what happened earlier. Grpen the circumstances, the only way is to adopt a more assertive approach.
As that thought crossed his mind, he popped the gastric medicine into his mouth and took a sip of warm
water.
Then, he cradled Madelyn’s small head in a domineering manner and planted a kiss directly on her lips.
Since she would not take the medicine properly, the only option left was to force–feed it to her.

Madelyn barely had time to react, and when she finally ealized what was going on, the gastric medicine had already taken effect within her belly, and the pain cased.
Once their lips parted, her face turned a deep crimson She glared at Sebastian with a gaze filled with resentment, yet also tinged with something unreadable. “You… What’s wrong with you?”

Lydia chuckled to herself before silently retreating with the glass in hand, closing the door behind her.
