“So, you’re in charge of this lousy, company, huh? I’ll fking kill you!” the woman suddenly yelled before pulling out a fruit knife from her pocket and charging toward Derek.

Seeing the fruit knife fly far away and realizing her father was no longer in danger, Madelyn immediately rushed forward to help the woman up.
“Are you okay?”
“You vile woman. Stop being so pretentious around me. Get lost!” the woman spat as she angrily shoved. Madelyn away.
Then, she pointed at the woman and lashed out, “If it weren’t for you meddling, my husband wouldn’t have died so tragically! He had finally started showing signs of improvement, but you showed up and insisted I go home to rest. That’s why I didn’t stay at the hospital last night, and just like that, he passed away! It’s all because of you, you wretched woman! It’s all your fault! I’ll f*cking kill you!”
After the explosive outburst, the woman went berserk and charged at Madelyn, unleashing a barrage of punches.
Since Madelyn couldn’t retaliate in time, she was struck with such force that she was left defenseless and had to endure several painful blows.

Alas, even as Cyrus stepped in, it took an incredible amount of effort before he was finally able to separate the two individuals.

Despite being forcefully pulled away, the woman showed no signs of letting the matter rest. “The one who died was my husband. For a moment, everyone was stunned. Then, they saw the woman pointing straight at Madelyn. “My husband’s death is related to this wretched woman. I want nothing else but for her to pay for her crime!”
No way, Derek replied instantly, his anger palpable. “My daughter isn’t the one who killed your husband. Getting her to pay with her life is out of the question.”
Seconds later, he calmed himself down. “Of course, we’ll still take responsibility for this matter. If your have any other suggestions for compensation, we can consider them.”
Upon hearing that, the woman’s expression turned grim. Do these people seriously think they can buy my husband’s life with money? Dream on!
However, just as the woman was about to engage in another argument, her family members quickly pulled her back
The next second, the elderly couple leaned close and coaxed her down.
“Don’t be naive, my dear,” the elderly woman comforted, her tone grave and solemn. “My son is already gone. Even if you got her to pay with her life, what will you get out of it?”
“At the very least, I’ll able to vent my frustration!” the younger woman thundered. “And if Sean knew that justice was being served, he’ll be able to rest in peace!”
To her surprise, her father–in–law slapped her. “Nonsense! My son is already dead. The ones he’ll be worrying the most are us and his children. Do you think he’ll be able to rest in peace knowing we aren’t living well?”

“Enough!” the elderly couple sternly interrupted before the woman could say anything else.
With that, they pushed their daughter–in–law aside and approached Derek.
“Since you’re offering compensation, we’ll accept it! As long as the amount you give is enough to settle the matter peacefully, we, as a family, will act as if none of this ever happened,” the elderly man said bluntly.

The two elders quickly glanced at the nearby reporters and realized it wasn’t the most appropriate place for a discussion. “Let’s take this conversation inside,” they suggested.
Derek simply ushered them into the building without watering a word.
Within seconds, the elderly couple was invited to the reception room, where they were each served with a cup of coffee.
“Now, you may state your requests. Derek uttered solemnly. “However, I do have one condition. I’ll compensate your family accordingly, but you must know when to stop. You’re not allowed to bring it up again in the future, let alone fabricate stories about it. Can you do that?”
“Don’t worry. As long as we settle this, we’ll definitely follow through on our word,” the elderly man reassured.
Derek nodded. “Go ahead, then. How much do you want?”
As it turned out, the elderly man had long made up his mind, so he said without hesitation, “Fifty million.”
Everyone else in the reception room widened their eyes as they gazed at the elderly man in disbelief.
What? This old geezer sure is greedy! He’s making such excessive demands!
Madelyn, too, was rather annoyed and was about to speak when a furious Derek beat her to it. “Are you trying to extort us? Based on my calculations, your son might not earn ten million even if he worked his entire life, let alone fifty million.”
Needless to say, it was a flat–out refusal. “There’s no way I’ll give you that much. You’d better think it through again.”
Alas, no sooner had the words been spoken than the other party began to act unreasonably.
“Isn’t your company worth at least a few hundred million? What’s the big deal in giving us fifty million?”
