As they dined, the trio engaged in lively conversation. Bursts of laughter punctuated their chat now and then, their spirits noticeably high and cheerful.
“Seeing Janessa being ousted from the company is truly satisfying!” Madelyn spoke as she lifted her glass of wine, gesturing toward the other two. “Come, let me toast to you both in celebration of this joyous
moment!”

The three women lifted their glasses of red wine. After a toast, they all drained their glasses in one go.
Then, Cheryl said vividly. “Do you know? After Janessa took over, I almost thought Sherritt Group was done for. Who would have thought there would come a day when I could actually bring her down? Can you understand how I’m feeling right now? I’m so ecstatic, I feel like I’m about to burst!”
The more Cheryl spoke, the more impassioned she became, practically brimming with excitement.
The other two women couldn’t help but laugh at the sight.
After calming down a bit, Cheryl spoke again. “However, I must express my gratitude to Madelyn once more for this matter. Madelyn, had you not been strategizing behind the scenes for me, who knows what state the company would have ended up in under Janessa’s control?”
Upon hearing this, Madelyn answered flippantly, “We’re friends, aren’t we? Helping each other is only natural, so stop with the constant thanking. Besides, if you really want to thank me, why not just hand over your company to me, right?”
As soon as the words were spoken, the three of them burst into laughter.
After Madelyn finished laughing, she continued, “However, to be honest, I didn’t really help you much with this matter. The reason Janessa fell this time was really her own fault. Upon hearing that she still had two more days to wait, Madelyn instantly became displeased.
“What project could possibly be so busy that it’s monopolizing all the time you’re supposed to spend with me? Hmph, I’m going to give that project manager a piece of my mind.”
Madelyn spoke assertively, yet her tone was far from intimidating. Instead, it was incredibly endearing-
Sebastian found it amusing as he listened, yet he was itching to see Madelyn immediately. He wanted to. gently ruffle her hair and pull her into a comforting embrace.
