Chapter 72 Confident In Winning Her Over
After being driven out, Jillian’s eyes were rimmed with red.
Unable to hold back any longer, she silently burst into tears.
Hidden in the two teardrops were her grievances, humiliation, and indignation.
Fiona, too, found herself wiping away her tears.
Jillian’s father had made a mistake and was sent to prison to reflect on his actions.

Ironically, the younger one was quite rebellious, always stirring up trouble and getting into fights.
As such, Jillian was the only hope of her family. Fiona had poured her heart and soul into raising her. How did things turn out like this?
She couldn’t help but feel frustrated, wondering why fate would make their life so difficult.
Madelyn hid in the shadows, watching the scene unfold before her, her heart aching with sympathy.
Choosing not to hide anymore, she walked straight up to the two of them, “Jillian, Mrs. Lynch, I have something to tell you both.”
Jillian had already been reduced to tears, so she simply nodded in response.
Following that, Madelyn led the two of them to a café located outside the campus.
After the three of them sat down, Madelyn introduced herself, “Hello, Mrs. Lynch. I’m Jillian’s classmate. My name is Madelyn.”
Fiona nodded, wiping away her tears, and offered a friendly smile. “Hello,” she greeted.
Perhaps due to the belief that one’s appearance reflected their heart, Fiona came across as a very kind- hearted woman, making Madelyn feel completely at ease.
Then, she said, “Mrs. Lynch, you must not blame Jillian for what happened. This incident is the result of someone scheming behind her back. Jillian isn’t the person they’re making her out to be.”
Upon hearing this, Fiona couldn’t help but seethe with anger. “Why are they framing Jillian? Jillian, who have you offended?”
Madelyn quickly tried to calm her down by saying, “Mrs. Lynch, please don’t get worked up. Let explain everything to you.”
Following that, Madelyn calmly explained, “In reality, Jillian didn’t do anything wrong, nor did she offend anyone. However, sometimes, not offending others doesn’t mean they won’t come to trouble you. To be honest, Mrs. Lynch, some people were simply envious of Jillian’s outstanding performance, which surpassed their own. That’s why they resorted to such a despicable scheme to frame Jillian.”

Madelyn also felt a great deal of distress seeing them in this state.
All of this was simply due to Janessa’s jealousy.
She was driven by envy, unable to bear the sight of others doing better than her, and thus resorted to such despicable tactics.
In Madelyn’s past life, Janessa had used every trick in the book to doom her eternally.
With this in mind, Madelyn’s anger only intensified. She was determined to seek revenge.
Following that, Madelyn stepped in to help soothe the emotions of the two.
“Mrs. Lynch, Jillian, don’t be too upset. If we show our sadness, wouldn’t we just be giving satisfaction to those who wronged us? Rest assured that I will personally find the culprit behind this and bring justice for Jillian!” Madelyn declared solemnly.
Upon hearing these words, Fiona couldn’t help but lift her head, taking a good look at Madelyn.
She was dressed immaculately, exuding an exceptional aura that set her apart. At first glance, it was clear sh was from a different world than theirs, likely a prominent young lady of some sort.
Although Madelyn was a prominent young lady, she carried no airs about her. Her voice was both sweet and polite, and she held a strong sense of justice, always willing to lend a hand.
Fiona immediately took a liking to Madelyn, expressing her gratitude by saying, “Madelyn, Jillian has always been introverted since childhood. She’s truly fortunate to have come to this university and made such a good friend like you.”
Feeling a bit embarrassed, Madelyn chuckled as she replied, “No, Mrs. Lynch. Actually, I’m the one who’s honored to be friends with Jillian. After all, I’m not a good student, and Jillian has guided me in many ways.‘
Fiona felt incredibly glad after hearing that. “It’s only natural for friends to help each other out. Seeing how well you two get along really sets my mind at ease,” she said.

windows.
Unexpectedly, she happened to catch a glimpse of Janessa and Christopher walking out side by side.
After Janessa stepped out, she looked around and asked, “Where are they? Didn’t you say that Madelyn and Jillian left together? Where are they now?”
Just a moment ago, Christopher mentioned that Madelyn and Jillian were at the gate, but now there was no one in sight. This left Janessa feeling somewhat agitated.
Christopher also took a look around. All he saw were small groups of students scattered here and there. There was no sign of Madelyn and Janessa anywhere.
Feeling somewhat helpless, he said, “I just saw them a moment ago. They must have left by now.”
Suddenly, he thought of something and got curious. “By the way, weren’t you and Madelyn the closest before? Why is it now that she seems to be so close with someone else instead of you?”
Janessa was already on edge, so hearing these words only agitated her further. “What’s it to you?” she retorted.
Having been snapped at for no reason, Christopher immediately felt a bit miffed. “Huh? It’s none of my business, you say? Well, I couldn’t care less about it either!”
Janessa rolled her eyes.
I, too, want to get closer to Madelyn. However, Madelyn seemed to have transformed into a completely different person. She even started harboring a grudge against me after the incident with the thesis!
Originally, Janessa had thought that the only way to prevent any mishaps was to get close to Madelyn again and regain her trust.
However, every time she attempted to do that, Madelyn would become extremely cold and unapproachable toward her.
Things were increasingly spiraling out of Janessa’s control, and having Christopher chattering away beside her only agitated her even further.
Janessa suddenly looked at Christopher with reproach and asked, “Didn’t you say you were confident you could win her over? You were talking really big, so why haven’t you won her over yet? You’re absolutely useless!”
